A Romantic Garden Wedding with a Vintage Tea Party Reception

EDEN WILLOW PHOTOGRAPHY

I am utterly head over heels with today’s elegant garden affair! Abounding with timeless romance and vintage-inspired luxury, there are so many details to love, it is hard to know where to begin – I’m talking angelic flower girls, dreamy florals, a glamorous lounge with velvet chairs, and a vintage tea-party inspired reception complete with mismatched china place settings! Believe me when I say you will want your pinning finger ready for this beauty….

A Romantic Garden Wedding with a Vintage Tea Party Reception

High school sweethearts Cheyenne & Raymond said I do on a gloriously sunny September day surrounded by friends and family at the beautiful Bella Fiori Gardens in Kennewick, Washington. Drawing inspiration from their venue the couple planned a sumptuous floral celebration with an intimate feel, sparing no expense when it came to creating a memorable experience for their loved ones.

“What was most important to us while planning was that we kept the small, personal wedding feel. We went for a big wedding budget and touches, but focused that more towards a guest experience. We also decided to splurge on, rather than skip, a videographer and I am so happy we did! We weren’t sure if it would be necessary but now it is one of our most cherished memories along with our photos.”

“We went for a classic and vintage look. My dress was my mother’s recreated and fitted to my body type. I kept the vintage look of it with the full lace and beading, but removed the 90’s sleeves and shoulder pads. I accessorized with a plain cathedral length veil and pearls which are classic and timeless.”

“Our biggest DIY project was our vintage palm fans. We ordered these plain and in bulk and tied each with fabric and glued dried lavender to them to give them a romantic touch. They were a big hit and many of our guests used them throughout the night and took them home.”

“The men wore simple black and white tuxedos and let the girls keep the attention. My bridesmaids wore a taupe multi-style dress. This way they matched with their color and fabric texture but were able to show their individual personalities by how they wrapped and wore the dress.”

“All of our flowers were pastel in color and kept with our light and airy theme. As a focal bloom we chose cafe au lait dahlias. I originally wanted peonies but as they were not in season, we found something just as large and beautiful. We incorporated spray roses, traditional roses, and a variety of locally grown flowers and greenery.”

“For the wedding I drew a lot of my inspiration from our venue. I loved the garden feel of our venue Bella Fiori and played off of that. Our colors were a very soft, romantic color palette – with blushes, nudes, and grey tones. We also incorporated a vintage, tea party theme to bring a little bit of glamour to the wedding. We wanted the wedding to be very romantic and glamorous while still keeping the personal, small wedding feel.”

“Rather than traditional favors we offered unlimited Photo Booth visits to our guest through out the night and they were able to keep their strips which were branded which our initials and date – a favor we hoped they would love and still remember our day while looking back on their memories.”

“Our cake was three tiers and was strawberry and cream flavored. I wanted a very simple design so we decided on plain white with small detail along the edge of each layer. We then incorporated the same flowers used in my bouquets and centerpieces on each layer, and topped it with a cake topper that read “amour” or love. We supplemented with plain vanilla and strawberry cream cupcakes.”

Pearls of wedding wisdom from the bride…

“Start early! Because I gave myself over a year to plan the wedding it really took away any stress and we were even able to get some early bird discounts because we booked so far in advance. This also gives you time to save for those things that you didn’t originally budget for but have found you will need once you have started putting it all together.”

Tell us a little bit about your photographer…

“Our photographers were great! They both made us feel so comfortable and captured every detail to relive our day. I wanted timeless and clean editing of the photos, which is exactly what they delivered. Also they were there to capture each important moment, but were never in the way or noticeable, something I really appreciated as it didn’t take away or distract from the moment. We are very happy with our choice.”
