Spring Romance – Garden Wedding Inspiration in Pretty Pastel Shades of Peach, Blush & Green

Whilst here in NZ the summer is a scorcher, meaning lots of lovely lazy days in the garden and dining outdoors (which always makes me feel a little Mediterranean?!) I know many of you remain in the midst of Winter, so I am starting the week with a Winter warmer for you! A romantic Spring wedding inspiration board in the prettiest pastel shades as a little reminder that Winter won’t last forever and Spring, in all of its beauty, will soon be on its way…..

Inspired by this breathtaking shot of Claire Pettibone‘s ‘Beauty’ wedding dress I chose pretty blush pink and peach paired with some fresh greens and a warm neutral grey, what palette could be more perfect for a romantic Spring (or summer) wedding? Especially against the backdrop of a blossoming garden! Make the most of the season and all it brings by having your ceremony and reception outdoors. Whether in a family backyard, country estate garden or vineyard, whichever venue you choose just be sure there is somewhere gorgeous and green for all of your wedding celebrations. Think an abundance of seasonal flowers for your aisle, centrepieces, wedding cake, bouquets – and anywhere else you can get them! Keep celebrations relaxed with family style dining but layer textures with linens, ribbons, wood and metallics to add some luxury and warmth to proceedings……

The Wedding Dress

Whilst I am not sure there is a dress more perfect for this wedding inspiration board than Claire Pettibone‘s ‘Beauty’I am loving the latest collection from Chic Vintage Brides fave BHLDN – you may remember the early glimpse of it I shared with you last month? (just in case you missed it, take a peek here) The lovely Avery by Catherine Deane features the prettiest scalloped skirt of delicate lace and a sweetheart neckline…..

Or how about the exquisite Mila by Watters with its dramatic sweetheart bodice and off-the-shoulder sleeves (a HUGE bridal trend for 2015 thankyou Mrs Clooney and Oscar De La Renta!)  The dogwood bloom lace had me swooning from the moment I saw it, oh and just wait until you see the back!…..

Or for something more demure but no less dramatic how about this beautiful Marchesa ball gown? Such a timeless silhouette, I just love the high neckline of lace, and the skirt even features pretty little pockets!…..

It’s All In The Details

You don’t need an elaborately iced wedding cake for it to look amazing. Have your layers created tall for a grand look (whatever the decor) then simply add some texture and fresh blooms for a cake that will look as unforgettable as I am sure it will taste…..

I love when a bride’s bouquet looks as though she could have picked it on the way to the aisle (not that it is something I recommend trying, for a lot of skill goes into making a bouquet look handpicked – its the bouquet equivalent of the ‘Au Naturel’ look we ladies use so much makeup perfecting!) An unstructured bouquet is just perfect for such a natural and relaxed setting , and the addition of a trailing ribbon really ups the pretty factor…..

Romantic Spring Wedding Bridal Bouquet

Mismatched bridesmaids in the softest shade of blush (or even ivory) look delightful, and add a touch of whimsy to your romantic vintage affair by having your maids wear their flowers instead of (or as well as) carrying them. The Flower crown trend is still going strong, or perhaps a comb, corsage or necklace?
