Top 10 Bridal Trends for 2015

Good morning lovelies! It only seems like yesterday that I was scouring the catwalks and collections for my pick of the Top 10 Wedding Dress Trends for 2014 (you can see them here and here if you missed them) yet we are already fast approaching the end of 2014 (there are only 5 weeks until Christmas?! Yes, really!) and 2015 will soon be upon us. So, having shared some of my favourite, and most vintage infused, of the latest collections (you can see them here, herehere and here if you missed them) I thought it was time to unveil the Top 10 most wonderful (and wearable!) Bridal Trends for 2015. From the very top wedding dress designers from around the world, these are the trends, features, looks and details that will be seen in bridal boutiques, and gracing brides waltzing down the aisle, everywhere next year. If you’re getting married in 2015 grab a seat and have your pinning finger at the ready, because one of these might be for you…..

Top 10 Bridal Trends for 2015

1. Off Shoulder Sleeves

Thanks to the continuing Boho movement, and of course the ever stylish Mrs Clooney (number 3 is an almost exact replica of her dress by the way) wide open necks with off shoulder sleeves are a big trend for next year. Keep them gossamer light and floaty for a romantic summer wedding, lace and tight for a timeless formal celebration or long and elegant for a Winter affair…..

2. Screen Siren Slits

Infuse your bridal look with some red carpet glamour by choosing a dress with a sultry screen siren slit (or two!) This is a beautiful look for a bold bride – although perhaps not fitting for a traditional church wedding, unless you go for the more demure hint of a slit a la Monique Lhuillier and Elizabeth Filmore…..

3. Charming and Tea Length

Nothing says vintage bride quite like a tea length wedding dress! They are fabulous, fun, a little flirty and not forgetting perfect for flashing your fancy footwear…..

4. Cream of the Crops

As a lover of all things vintage, you may not be a big fan of the cropped top, but this was a trend that could not be missed on the Fall 2015 catwalks. With some even managing to look quite chic…..

For a more subtle and vintage look though, I loved the designers who created a crop with more box jacket look, inspired by the 1960s…..

5. Crowns!

If you are a regular follower of Chic Vintage Brides you will have come to realise my infatuation for crowns. And having been calling for a crown revival since the start of this year, you can imagine my glee when I spotted many a model sashaying down the catwalk adorned in a sparkly diadem. Nothing can make a bride feel more like a princess on her wedding day than a coronet – and we’re not talking the twinkly tiaras of the 80s and 90s! Oh no, the crowns of today are opulent but refined, graceful and majestic, utterly befitting of a modern bride…..

6. Coats, Capes & Coverlets

There is so much to love about this trend (which is possibly why 2015 will be the second year for this key look) Capes create a bold statement, a demure look, a unique silhouette and better still, removing one gives you a completely new look for the reception without the expense of a second dress! What could be more perfect than that?…..

They are also absolutely perfect for a Fall or Winter wedding, especially these stunning and cosy looking coverups from Theia…..

7. Dramatic Necklines

Whether it is illusion, adorned, high, plunging or halterneck 2015 is all about the neckline – and the more dramatic the better!

8. Colourful

It seems this is a trend that is only growing and I for one am SO glad. Offering you brides the choice to wear something other than the traditional white, gives you the opportunity to show your style and allow your unique personality to truly shine. Rather than dusting the catwalks with gold and silver, this year designers embraced a more pastel palette choosing pretty pinks, dusky blues and even a splash of sunshine yellow…..

9. Trousers

Of course if you really want to go unconventional for your wedding, you could always ditch the dress and channel your inner Bianca Jagger by wearing trousers! The catwalks were brimming with chic trouser ensembles perfect for you beautiful brides not wishing to wear a dress…..

10. Lush Long Sleeves

Last, but by no means least, long sleeves are going no-where! I am over the moon that this trend remains as popular with designers, bloggers and no doubt brides for 2015 as it was when it first emerged back in 2011 (a big thank-you to Sarah Burton and the lovely Duchess of Cambridge!) Each year the sleeves, be they sheer, billowing and boho or long and lacey, seem to get even more elegant, creating yet lovelier silhouettes and breathtaking brides…..

Aaahh they all make me want to get married again so desperately! How about you, any of these trends have you tempted for your 2015 celebrations?? Let me know which looks you love and given enough comments I might even dedicate a whole post to your favourite.
