Forget-Me-Not – Spring Wedding Inspiration in Shades of Blue & Greyed Jade

Hello lovelies, another Monday is upon us. But despair not, because do I have the loveliest inspiration board for you today! Especially for all those of you coming to the end of Winter, I have mixed shades of blue with the greyed jade to create a bright and pretty palette just perfect for a Spring wedding…..

Warm shades of blue with hints of greyed jade in the details make this a charming alternative to the pastels and pinks often seen for Spring.  I envision a merry, relaxed affair think old english country fete complete with marquee, bunting, a home baked cake and croquet on the lawn. Of course if blue isn’t your favourite colour you can always add a pop of lavender purple, it looks just as fabulous with greyed jade!

I confess, it was that gorgeous floral bridesmaids dress from Modcloth that inspired today’s post. I just love the mix of colours and the vintage styling of it. It is also perfect for one of this year’s key bridesmaids trends – floral patterns! If you’re worried though about it being too much, and would prefer a more subtle look, choose complementing dresses in colours from the dress for all but one or two of your bridesmaids (depending on how many of your gal pals will be walking down the aisle with you) For more in these pretty colours pop across to Chic Vintage Brides on Pinterest where you will find LOTS to love.

Maybe because I watched Funny Face this weekend, or maybe because I was imagining a slight 1950s vibe when I created the boards, but for the bride I think a tea length wedding dress would be just perfect! Fun and frivolous and allowing the freedom of movement you will need to join in all of the games and dancing! How about an original wedding dress from the era from Chic Vintage Brides favourite Mill Crest Vintage….

Or for something more modern but with more than a hint of the glamour of the era, this beautiful gown from Jenny Packham…..

Or for something a little more quirky, I love this long sleeved shortie from Yolan Cris with all of its floral embellishments…..

I would love to see more brides kicking tradition and going with a tea length frock! Tea Length, short or not – what do you think?

Fear not for I haven’t forgotten those of us in the Southern Hemisphere where Autumn is approaching, the next inspiration board will be just for us!
