I imagined a woodland backdrop, perhaps somewhere in the mountains, but this look would work just as well for a barn wedding, or anywhere offering a hint of rustic charm. This is a theme for a relaxed wedding with a timeless elegance. So think tweed waistcoats beneath wool suits, vintage fur shawls for the bride and bridesmaids, and blankets as favours for your guests.
Of course much of the celebration will be inside, but be sure to bring the season indoors with you by having fires roaring and table runners or hanging installations of fragrant greenery. Keep blooms crisp and white, flatware silver and other decor elements simple. I love the use of pine cones to decorate a barely iced cake (the light covering of icing gives it a snow-like look) – and you can find a similar wedding cake topper right here!
