5 Perfect Palettes for an Autumn Vintage Wedding
Whilst we are looking forward to the start of Spring here in NZ – warmer days, later nights, gardens filled with flowers and BBQs with friends; I confess Autumn remains my favourite season! In fact, I am more than a little envious of you starting to see the leaves turn and planning trips to the pumpkin patch. It is by far the most beautiful time of year and so it surprises me that it’s not a more popular season for weddings. Can there be anything more romantic than that warm Autumn sunlight? And it is such a fabulous season for food – forget canapes, cocktails and wedding cake, think roasts, hot cider and pie, or coffee and toasting marshmallows around a roaring fire! If that hasn’t convinced you though, I am hoping these pretty vintage wedding colour palettes that are just perfect for Autumn might…..
1. Starting with the most romantic! Deep, dark plum mixed with dusky pinks and blush look sooo pretty together. The rich, deep colours add opulence whilst the dusky paler colours lighten….and just imagine the options when it comes to bridesmaids!

3. Cranberry, red and gold is a classic colour combination for Autumn, but add a splash of bright blue and it is given a whole new dimension. Add this colour in rich textures like velvet or silk and it just increases the sense of luxury, whilst brightening what could be an otherwise dark palette.
4. This slightly unusual palette is perfect for a wedding with a touch of whimsy. Pair shades of radiant orchid with blue, mustard yellow and a hint of peach and you have an unexpectedly gorgeous colour combo packed with personality……
5. For rustic elegance however you just can’t go wrong with beautiful neutrals inspired by nature. Shades of green with hints of brown, gold or bronze and just a splash of the richest cranberry are earthy but oh so chic! Sublime for a glamorous outdoor ceremony and a barn reception!
So, have I convinced you to get cosy and be an Autumn bride with any of these?? I think they’re all so lovely, but my favourite surprised me! I adore the romantic Blush and Burgundy but the elegant neutrals in Woodland Wonder completely won me over….in fact, I might just have found my next Inspiration Board colour palette! What do you think?
