A Timeless and Beautiful Bridesmaid Look ~ Ivory
Good morning lovelies! It seems that all too often the hunt for the perfect bridesmaids dress is as stressful and time consuming as the search for THE wedding dress – apparently finding a colour and style to suit all, loved by bride and bridesmaids alike, and at a price that is affordable, is more elusive than the holy grail. But after looking at one of the prettiest bridesmaid looks for this Summer a couple of weeks ago, today I’m kicking off this week with one of the most timeless! It may not be a colour you have considered before, but surely after this you will be swayed that ivory may just be exactly what you are looking for…..
I think it is fair to say that ivory bridesmaids have been somewhat on trend for a couple of wedding seasons now. And it is easy to pin point exactly when and how that trend started – after all who could forget, even after 3 years, this bridesmaid dress and that wedding…..
But before Kate put Pippa (and her behind) in that dress, brides had long been dressing their bridesmaids in ivory…..

In the past there may have been the worry that brides with their maids in ivory wouldn’t ‘stand out.’ But who do we remember most clearly from Kate & Will’s big day? Surely, as beautiful as she looked, it is not Pippa! In fact, have I ever seen a wedding where I have been unsure who the bride is?….erm…. no, never! Even without wearing a princess wedding dress with cathedral length veil you can ensure there is no mistaking the bride: keep your bridesmaids dresses short and sweet; or have your bridesmaids wear flower crowns and you wear a sparkly tiara (or keep your bridesmaids accessories minimal and wear the flower crown yourself); if your dress has beautiful long lace sleeves then keep your bridesmaids dresses strapless; or possibly my favourite look yet, have your bridesmaids in ivory and go bold with colour! However you do it, there are plenty of ways for you to remain centre stage, so don’t shy away from ivory for your bridesmaids. Want to see just how lovely then can look? Here are some real weddings and bridesmaids plus some of the loveliest ivory dresses just perfect for bridesmaids to tempt you further…..
