Delightful & Delicious Spring Wedding Cake Ideas
So far on our weekly saunter through Spring we’ve looked at the most perfect palettes, gorgeous groom ideas and beautiful seasonal bouquets. Well, for this week’s Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons I have been making my mouth water with some of the most delightful and delicious ideas for Spring wedding cakes. Decoration and design ideas that are fresh, pretty, perfect for the season and sure to leave a lasting impression on your guests – as well as some beautiful portrait photos.
1. Spring Flowers
Decorating your wedding cake with flowers might sound like an obvious suggestion, but I am not talking flowers of the fresh kind! Oh no, rather exquisite, and edible, flowers of the icing variety. This is how cakes used to be decorated and I LOVE that it is making a comeback. Of course it’s not the cheapest option (can you imagine the skill and hours of work involved in making these floral fancies?) but if you can afford it I am sure you will agree it makes quite the statement…..

2. Painted & Pretty
Hand-painted wedding cake works of art have been a trend for a season or two now, and thankfully it’s a trend that looks likely to be continuing for some time! A delicate wash of watercolour looks as pretty as a picture on a Spring Wedding Cake and will definitely wow your guests.

4. Ruffled
Perhaps because the ruffles remind me of delicate petals, or because they always seem to be created in such pretty hues; whatever the reason, I think Ruffles make the most perfect Spring wedding cake decoration. One layer or all; white, ombre or colourful; decorated with cascading flowers ribbon or nothing; a wedding cake rocking ruffles always looks elegant and exquisite…..
