Silk Spring Flower Crowns from Mignonne Handmade
This week is starting to look as though it might have a distinctly Spring feel to it! Did you see yesterday’s Spring wedding inspiration board? Aren’t those pretty shades of blue and greyed jade just the most fab alternative to the traditional pinks and pastels of the season. Today I am continuing our stroll into Spring with Mignonne Handmade‘s truly gorgeous silk Spring Flower Crowns collection. I might be calling for a tiara and crown revival, but I still can’t resist a crown of beautiful blooms! Especially ones that will last a life time…..
The collection consists of 6 equally lovely pieces (including a comb) in glorious colours inspired by Spring and each exquisite floral piece is completely handmade with the utmost attention to detail. I am going to let Jenn, the talented lady behind these beauties and Mignonne Handmade talk you through their creation ….”I start the process with pure white silk that is then cut into petals that are dyed to a underlying hue, all colors hand mixed by me, then I paint each one in a watercolor style adding depth and a realism to the petals making each one a perfectly unique work of art. The petals are then pressed with millinery brass irons and sewn together to make perfect blossoms.” So your flower crown will not only be beautiful but also completely unique, one of a kind!

The lovely Jennifer goes on to explain that this foray in flower crowns isn’t new to her “I am SO excited to be launching a new collection of flower halos for spring. When I started Mignonne Handmade 4 years ago my most popular pieces were handmade flower halos, it felt good to make a collection of items that are synonymous with our brand and our style.” (in fact, Mignonne Handmade featured in Chic Vintage Brides first flower crown post almost 2 and a half years ago)

“I was so lucky to work with Rachel Ann Solomon, her photography is so luminous and she is the consummate professional as is model Jaime Rose Gerin, doesn’t she look like a young Brooke Shields? So stunning! I reunited with my friend Rosie Reed from Rosie Reed Beauty for her amazing make up skills, can you believe we’ve been playing make-up for over 20 years? Of course now she gets to do it professionally and she does it so well!
We shot these at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum, also the place I had my first flower halo shoot 4 years ago with the always fabulous Sloan photographers. This time my family, Aaron, Emma and Milo came with us and enjoyed the gardens while we were working. It was one of those rare days where work and family is actually in balance!”

Well I for one am completely smitten! And I think Manon fits perfectly with yesterday’s colour inspiration! What do you think?
