Top 10 Spring Wedding Colours for 2016 from Pantone
I know you’re only just welcoming Autumn, but did you hear Pantone have released their Top 10 colours for Spring 2016? And, as always, they’re gorgeous!! So I have taken a closer look and pulled their pretty picks into inspiration boards, for you to see exactly how each one might work for your wedding…..
Now, if you’re newly engaged, or just new to Chic Vintage Brides, you may be wondering who is Pantone? And, why the heck should you care what colours they pick for next Spring? Well, remember last year how Radiant Orchid was EVERYWHERE? And this year everyone has gone Marsala mad? Well, that would be because Pantone chose them as their ‘Colour of the Year’. You see, they are the world authority on colour. Their colour cards and codes (those 6 digit numbers that follow each shade’s name) are referenced and used by almost every industry on the planet, and especially the fashion and wedding industries! And when they say a colour is fabulous and going to be big next year, they’re usually right. So you see, if you’re planning a wedding in 2016, you will want to know what colours Pantone has chosen, because these are the hues and shades that are likely to fill the shops! But if that’s not a good enough reason for you to have a look, they are also utterly lovely!
Rose Quartz
Like a bride’s blush, Rose Quartz 13-1520 (a move on from this Autumn’s Cashmere Rose) is gentle, delicate and utterly romantic. Charmingly subtle it is perfect for pairing with other shades of pink and pretty green hues for a Spring or Summer wedding…..

Peach Echo
A far softer shade than the oranges we have seen over the last two seasons (if you missed them, you can catch up here with Spring and Fall 2015) Peach Echo 16-1548 exudes warmth and is incredibly versatile, looking pretty as a picture with mint, green or blue. It’s also super flattering, so sure to be a shade your bridesmaids will love…..

Serenity
My favourite of today’s shades, Serenity 15-3919 is a light and airy shade of sky blue. With a distinctly olde world feel it is a hue that is perfectly suited to a vintage wedding.

Snorkel Blue
The nautical inspired Snorkel Blue 19-4049 is more one for the boys I think. A lively shade of navy it would make a fabulous masculine accent colour in a pretty Spring wedding palette…..

Buttercup
Nothing says Spring quite like a vibrant yellow, and Buttercup 12-0752 is certainly that! Whilst the rest of Pantone’s picks for Spring 2016 exude calm, Buttercup is quite the contrast. But I love this bright and happy shade and can’t wait to see it popping up in your weddings!

Well, that’s the end of Part I, what do you think?? Do you have a favourite? Have you spotted the new Marsala, which was Pantone’s colour of the year for 2015! After Emerald, Radiant Orchid and Marsala, I would like to see them go for Serenity and see how people interpret such a lovely soft shade for Autumn.
You will find Part II here – just wait until you see Limpet Shell and Lilac Gray!
