Elopements
A Modern-Vintage Elopement in Historic Savannah
Sarah Ingram PhotographyThere is nothing quite like the intimacy of an elopement, especially one as flawlessly styled as today’s beauty in historic Savannah. The combination of historic architecture, lush florals in soft shades of dusky yellow and peach, and timeless fashion showcases to perfection just why elopements can be every bit as romantic and memorable as a wedding!
When it came to planning their wedding, College sweethearts Melissa, now an artist, and Andrew, a pastry chef, knew just what they wanted and even more importantly where they wanted it. The couple explains “We both like simple + modern styles, but love the unique and historical aspects of Savannah… And since we got engaged shortly after our trip there, it made perfect sense for us to marry there!
From the architecture to the kind southern residents and the budding food scene in Savannah, we have fallen in love with this rich and vibrant place. Not long after deciding to wed, we both agreed immediately that Savannah had to be the place to marry. Simple yet modern tastes and personalities are infused into each element while blending with the historic facets of this age old city.”
Pearls of wedding wisdom from the bride…..
“Keep the centered thought that an elopement is something built to reflect you as a couple while retaining the ultimate intimacy. Without the fanfare and need to please a crowd that comes with a regular wedding, you truly can do just that if you stay committed to it. Scratch what causes stress and doesn’t really matter at the end of the day – things you may feel conflict over with hundreds of guests to impress.
Also, even though you aren’t inviting guests, keep those you love in mind and consider their feelings by doing something personal like an announcement of your elopement thanking them for their presence and influence in your life.”
Isn’t it stunning? Huge congratulations and heartfelt thanks to the happy couple Melissa & Andrews for sharing their beautiful day with us.
