Timeless & Romantic Wedding Inspiration

Elopements

A Romantic Elopement on the Seine

Daria Lorman Photography

Today romance is sweeping us off our feet and whisking us away to Paris for the dreamy elopement of Weronika & Patrick. We’re talking stunning fall florals, a bespoke bridal gown, the vintage Alpha Romeo we all fell in love with in The Talented Mr Ripley, as well as the most magnificent wedding cake – and all in the most romantic city in the world…. could there be a more perfect way to start the week?

Romantic Fall Paris Elopement

Beautiful bride Weronika shared why eloping felt right for her & Patrick and why they avoided some of the more traditional Paris tourist attractions… “For us, our wedding was the most important day for us as a couple and not our family or friend’s day. So we felt eloping was just the right way to do it! We live in Europe and have travelled to quite a lot of places together, but we had never been to Paris before. We got inspired by movies and photographs, and were open to our photographers suggestions in terms of locations. The Eiffel Tower just didn’t felt right for us as we wanted something more unique, but still with beautiful Parisian architecture and the river Seine.

Our color palette was influenced by autumn : peach, orange and dark bordeaux red colors, like autumn leaves on the trees. I didn’t choose any particular flowers, so there were some roses, dahlias, dry flowers and fall foliage.”

THE DRESS

“I knew I wanted my dress to be custom made and I was lucky to find Point G Lingerie on instagram. Anastasiya was great and created this unique piece with constellation embroideries for me! This is truly the dress of my dreams and I didn’t want to take it off.

My shoes were nude Louboutins with crystals on the heels. I also chose small, simple earrings from DellaBellaGioielli’s shop as the dress had a lot of embroidery and I didn’t want to take attention away from it.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT

“Midnight in Paris” movie influenced our ceremony location. People passing by on the boats at the Seine river were all giving us tons of applauds and shouting congratulations! That made us feel so special!

The day was quite windy and cold, but the sun came out during the ceremony and warmed us. We also saw two swans swimming around our ceremony set-up! That was so romantic!”

“After the ceremony, we spent our day with our photographer and videographer, strolling calm Paris streets in a beautiful Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider car, taking pictures, dancing and drinking champagne in a beautiful café at Place des Vosges. Exactly the way we wanted it to be!”

THE CAKE

“There is no celebration without a cake – and we both have a sweet tooth! We chose a vanilla with praliné flavour cake from Cakes by Meri.”

WORDS OF WEDDING WISDOM

“Find a good photographer and videographer as they will create once in a lifetime memories that you can share with everyone back home and of course cherish forever. This is definitely not an area of your budget you can cut.

Also, prepare photo inspirations so that both you as a couple and your photographer have an idea of what you are trying to achieve and what are your dream shots. “

THE PHOTOGRAPHY

Daria Lorman was absolutely amazing! We can’t thank her enough! She basically planned the whole day for us. Having a great knowledge of wedding vendors in Paris, she gave me all the necessary contacts (Makeup and Hair stylist, florist, ceremony officiant, videographer and the others).

I loved Daria’s dreamy and romantic astetics, and light tones with some color pop even before booking her. I love how she captured all the details of our day.  She also guided us through the process and made us feel at ease. Thanks to her,  we have the most beautiful wedding photos and Paris will always be in our memory. In addition, she is the nicest person we’ve ever met and we hope we can meet again in a few years.”

Isn’t it just so romantic?? I know everyone talks about Paris in Spring, but it looks just as lovely in Fall to me! And I am swooning hard over those florals! Many many congratulations to the happy couple, Weronika & Patrick, and a heartfelt thankyou to them and their photographer Daria Lorman  for sharing their beautiful day with us.
