‘The 1950s Love Series’ – Stylish Mid-Century Elopement Inspiration

MYRANDA RANDLE PHOTOGRAPHY

I share a lot of modern vintage inspiration here on Chic Vintage Brides, which I absolutely love – it is so inspiring to see couples and creatives in this wonderful wedding industry of ours putting a contemporary interpretation on timeless elegance and vintage details! But I know there’s still a lot of brides, and grooms, out there whose hearts will always be true vintage (and by that I mean the vintage that recreates a specific era or look, that includes fashion and details from the period, and transports you to a different time) Well today’s mid-century masterpiece is for you!…..

'The 1950s Love Series' - Stylish Mid-Century Elopement Inspiration

Whisking us back to the 1950s, it shares the story of the most stylish young couple running off to be wed. Capturing the era and romance perfectly was the lovely Myranda Randle – who also happens to be the lady behind the idea, so I will let her have the last say before we take a look at all the wonderful images…..

“This concept is one that is very close to my heart; I’ve always been in love with the sheer beauty of the 1950s. For many months I thought and dreamed of it, until finally the time came for it to be brought to life.

First I went on a mad hunt for the perfect characters to epitomize my bride and groom. Since during this time period interracial couples would have been quite rare, I wanted to show the stark contrast. After a couple months of searching I came across the beautiful souls of Christin Mullens and Eric Mouton, not only were they some of the kindest individuals ever but their styles and spirit embodied what I was looking for. Prior to this series they had never met, but on set instantly these two had chemistry that was unparalleled.

After the models were pinned down I started my search for vendors. I wanted creative who not only had extreme talent but could also connect to this slightly unconventional but classic concept. All the vendors who jumped on board not only fell in love with the concept as much as I, but they also put their all in bringing to the table their own unique twist. Their creativity and input really topped everything off. Words cannot explain how much I appreciate their contributions.

Although the shoot was delayed a couple times due to unexpected events in weather, when the time came everything fell into place beautifully. I hope you find beauty in this inspiration and enjoy these images. “

I am so in love with this shoot! The fashion and photography is simply incredible, and so super stylish. I don’t even know where to begin when it comes to saying thankyou to the wonderful vendors behind it – all of whom you will find listed below. As always I must give a special thanks to the photographer, and in this case the person with the vision, Myranda Randle for bringing back to life the 1950s, and for photographing it so magnificently. I love the Fine Art Photography trend we have been seeing in recent years, but I am also developing a new appreciation for the depth of colours in this darker and moodier style of photography like Myranda’s. To see more of her work do pop and take a peek at her website myrandarandlephotoblog.com and beautful Instagram feed.

If you’re more of a true vintage than a modern vintage kind of gal, and this shoot has left you wanting more, then you should check out some of these other wedding shoots inspired by past eras: like this charming Anne of Green Gables shoot full of Edwardian elegance, or ‘Love Letters from Willowbank’ which is the most romantic styled shoot inspired by the Art Nouveau era. If you are as much of a Downton Abbey fan as I am then you definitely won’t want to miss this vision of Art Deco opulence or for a little more Jazz Age razzamatazz have a look at this glamorous shoot.

Of course if it’s mid-century you’re after, then this fabulously bold and bright inspiration is sure to wow, with its contemporary geometric shapes, is sure to wow! And with more than a hint of mod, this styled wedding shoot in shades of Summer sunshine is a delight!
