Fall Mountaintop Elopement at Lake HodgesAbbey Rez Photography
Shot atop a mountain overlooking Lake Hodges in Southern California, today’s inspiration shoot captures the adventurous spirit and romance of an intimate elopement. Styled to reflect the stunning setting, in a fall palette with pops of bright red for contrast, it is the perfect mix of rustic and vintage. And it quite simply makes my elopement loving heart sing…..
Photographer Abbey Rez shared a details about the elements in the shoot and what inspired the creative team’s vision…..
“The inspiration for this shoot was rich colours and intimate adventure with vintage undertones. Our bride’s wedding dress is romantic with a chic vintage look, fit for an adventurous bride. And our groom is in relaxed attire befitting the setting.
The flowers are made up of vibrant colours among which are red and white roses, lambs ear, eucalyptus, and rosehips.
The table itself is made from vintage window shutters. Wanting to keep the natural distress of the shutters visible, we used a runner to accentuate the table decorated with intricate pieces to invoke a sense of adventure and intimacy. A globe, a variety of wooden boxes – one being used in place of a traditional cake pedestal, lantern, and basket, keeping it classy with good wine, and vintage candlesticks.
The cake is a two tiered, barely naked, vanilla cake along with crystal sugar sweet georgias, and elegant mini macarons topped with gold flakes.”
Can you imagine a more perfect place to say “I do”?? I so love a good elopement! Especially when the setting is as breathtaking as a mountaintop. A huge thankyou to all the wedding professionals that lent their time ad talents to bring this elopement to life, but especially to Abbey Rez Photography & Film who captured every detail so perfectly.
