A Chic Summer Wedding with Splashes of Pink and Two Ceremonies
CLAIRE MORGAN PHOTOGRAPHYToday’s beautiful vintage-inspired wedding was celebrated on a blue-skied, but windy, day in Perth making for some magical photographs from Claire Morgan. Soft, delicate Summer blooms in a palette of ivory, blush and pink feature throughout this elegant affair, with lovebirds Jacinta & Aleksandar exchanging vows not once but twice in two equally emotional and joy-filled church settings. I was utterly smitten with every single detail, but what especially stole my heart was all the thoughtful little touches the couple thought of for their guests – so have your pinning finger ready as you enjoy their magical day…..
Inspired by the memories of the elaborate parties her mother and grandmother always threw, Jacinta set out to create a stylish French-inspired celebration that would wow family & friends alike.
“This was a beautiful moment for us to come together and plan every detail of my romantic style wedding.
We were inspired by the many beautiful French style weddings on pinterest and so as big romantics at heart, we wanted our guests to feel like they were in a French chateau, surrounded by beautiful gardens and dining under the stars – our stylist on the day from Perdu Décor absolutely brought our vision to life!
Our wedding was a true reflection of our classic and elegant style but also loads of FUN and very relaxed!”
“I have always loved the classic and fun Kate Spade sparkly bow wedding shoes and knew these were my Cinderella slippers for my wedding day.”
“I wanted something soft and whimsical for my beautiful bridesmaids so I chose a soft pink tulle in keeping with the wedding colour palette. My bridesmaids looked like floating princesses in their soft pink tulle dresses and pretty flower hairpieces on the day. For their accessories we chose fun hot pink Alannah Hill heels!”
“My wedding dress inspiration has always been Grace Kelly’s demure and elegant princess bride gown. It was a match made in heaven when I discovered the lovely Katie from LouiCol Designs who showed me a selection of her stunning French lace samples in her studio treasure chest. Katie designed my timeless and classic princess bride gown with a sweetheart and delicate lace bodice, pearls and a touch of sparkle. I truly felt like a princess wearing my beautiful French lace wedding gown.”
“For my accessories, I wanted classic pearl earrings and soft white roses in my hair.”
“The sweet and talented Tali from Twigged worked her magic on my beautiful bouquet of soft roses and berries, with an antique brooch pinned to the ribbon wrapped stems and fun floral hair garlands for the bridesmaids and myself.”
“We felt very blessed on our wedding day that we had two ceremonies to honour both our families’ religions. The Macedonian Orthodox church itself is truly magnificent, covered by colourful and intricate hand-painted frescoes and lit up by an impressively large and ornate Italian chandelier. The main orthodox ceremony was conducted by Rev. Pop Stanko Jovanovski who is a dear and longtime family friend of the groom’s side. It was very special to have the priest and his son (p.s. Orthodox priests are allowed to marry) as the Kum (a form of Godfather) in the ceremony together. We then proceeded to the Catholic Church to receive a blessing by the very funny Irish priest Joe Walsh.”
“We hired two classic vintage white Jaguars from Belle Limousines. One of the cars was a stretch convertible which after the ceremony was great fun for the bridal party in the warm summer weather.”
Pearls of Wedding Wisdom from the Bride…
“My greatest advice would be to read the book the 5 Love Languages and this quote was given to me before and I try to live by these words every day- Most people get married believing a myth that marriage is beautiful box full of all the things they have longed for; Companionship, intimacy, friendship etc … The truth is, that marriage at the start is an empty box, you must put something in before you can take anything out. There is no love in marriage, love is in people, and people put love in marriage. There is no romance in marriage, you have to infuse it into your marriage. A couple must learn the art, and form the habit of giving, loving, serving, praising, of keeping the box full. If you take out more than you put in, the box will be empty.”
“The first glimpse of the reception area at Lamont’s Bishop’s House was a special moment for us. It was breathtaking to see our wedding venue transform from a blank canvass to a sea of pretty pink blooms and foliage that made it feel like we were transported to the gardens of a French chateau. The festoon lighting softly twinkled and the abundance of flowers took my breath away. The guest-seating chart was a floral masterpiece with beautiful green foliage and flowers cascading down the side. We also incorporated gorgeous rose pots in our French provincial style lounge area, which looked stunning and made the space feel very cozy. It was delightful to see our guests relaxing there!”
“Our wedding favors honored my Italian grandfather’s homemade limoncello recipe made by the lemons from my husband’s grandfathers’ old lemon tree. It was very special and sentimental to honor our past grandparents in this way, as well as with photos dotted around the venue of their weddings.”
“We love the little details and had fans to keep our guests cool, pashminas on the night to stay cozy, and vintage photos of our grandparents’ weddings dotted around the reception venue as a little remembrance of them.”
“Our funniest moments included my husband rapping “Let’s Get Married by Jagged Edge” as our wedding reception entrance song; the look on our family and friends faces was priceless. For the months leading up to the wedding wegot into shape by doing bridal party boot camp and zumba routines weekly. Our instructor choreographed a zumba inspired bridal party dance routine for our guests on the night. The surprise dance routine was so much fun and our guests were in fits of laughter.”
“A sparkler exit was the perfect fairy tale wedding ending. One of my most vivid memories was sitting on the back of my husband’s Porsche convertible and waving goodbye to our loved ones. I can still recall their smiley faces in the twinkling distance.”
Tell us a little bit about your photographer…
“We were lucky enough to be introduced to Aimee Jones by my cousin and Aimee Jones mentioned that her mentor Claire Morgan was flying to Australia for a fashion shoot around the time of our wedding and she would love to photograph our wedding, with Aimee to be our second shooter! We were absolutely delighted to have the most beautiful and talented photographer to capture our precious wedding moments. Claire Morgan’s style is both elegant and effortless and she captured the very essence of our wedding day.
Claire was so graceful in the background on the day, which was both relaxing and allowed us to be ourselves and have fun. Her photos paint a beautiful story and are a stunning mix of tender emotions, fun and laughter. Claire was truly talented in capturing the details and natural shots on our wedding day.”
Many congratulations to the happy couple Jacinta & Aleksandar! Plus huge thanks for letting me share their perfect day with you, and to their lovely photographer Claire Morgan who really did capture the smiles, tears and love, that filled their day from start to finish, so beautifully.
