Love, Love, Love – Valentines Day Inspiration
Just in case Tuesday’s gorgeous Parisian love shoot wasn’t enough to get you feeling all inspired for Valentines Day and in the mood for romance, today I have the sweetest inspiration board in a palette that is utterly gorgeous. So on trend and with a retro edge it is perfect for a Valentines Day surprise, a girly night in, a bridal shower or even a fabulously feminine wedding…..
1 ~ Jeremiah & Rachel Photogaphy, 2 ~ Ellison Lane, 3 ~ KT Merry, 4 ~ Wiley Valentine
Inspired by this super cute Valentines shoot by Jeremiah & Rachel Photogaphy (Oh isn’t that French bulldog puppy a cherub??) this colour combination of gold, ruby red and shades of hot pink is vibrant, fun and ever so romantic. Continue the theme of romance with lush flowers in an array of pinks and there is no such thing as too many hearts for a celebration of love! Think garlands, balloons, cake toppers, cocktail sticks, tablesettings and wall decor (find some DIY projects, Pinterest is awash with them, if you’re on a tight budget); and simply add a splash of gold + a dash of glitter for some glitz and texture.
Floral Centrepiece ~ Annabella Charles via Magnolia Rouge, Kiss Me ~ Shop Ban.Do, Heart Garland ~ Mailbox Happiness on Etsy, Heart Shoes ~ Charlotte Olympia via Net-a-Porter, XO ~ The Sweetest Occasion, Cake ~ A Piece o’ Cake captured by Kelly Braman, Heart Cake Topper ~ Paper Pony, Cocktails ~ Wines by Wives via Elizabeth Anne Designs, Tablescape ~ Angela Blake Photography via The Bridal Detective
Valentines Day DIY
I just love this gorgeous cake display and it couldn’t be easier to re-create yourself. For that fabulous tassel garland The Sweetest Occasion has the best DIY, 100 Layer Cake featured this tasty looking Create Your Own Naked Cake (including a little floral arrangement for the top!) and then all you need is a cake stand like this one and ta da!
Or for something that requires a little less in the way of baking skills, these cute heart cake toppers are super easy to make yourself and Paper Pony has a fantastic post taking you through how, step by step, here…..
So, what do you think? Although I am not usually a girly girl, I am rather loving this fun colour palette! If bold, bright and girly isn’t for you though, take a peek at my last Valentines Day inspiration board, which was a little more subdued and elegant; or my first one which was a little more retro.
