Tulle & Tides – Beach Wedding Inspiration in Vintage Blue and Linen
Hello lovelies! I’m afraid so, yes, it is Monday already – where did that weekend disappear to so quickly? I feel as though I hardly had a chance to greet it when it was gone. Anyway, to brighten this Monday morning, and especially for those of you shivering and suffering in the polar vortex, I have a beautiful beach wedding inspiration board to whisk you away to warmer climes. You see it was something of a scorcher weekend here in sunny Hawkes Bay and it had me dreaming of long summer holidays by the sea……

Warm muted neutrals form the base of this super romantic colour palette, with accents of vintage blues and just a hint of a rich bronze brown. With a beautiful natural setting decor can be kept to an elegant minimum; driftwood makes perfect place name holders, centrepieces or aisle runners and can easily be prettied up with delicate florals or ribbon. Mixing textures and fabrics is a really easy way to add opulence to an otherwise natural setting – satin ribbon, linen napkins, patterned plates and velvet for the groom…..

I love the sweet halterneck bridesmaids dress, chiffon always manages to look so light and cool, perfect for a beach wedding. If you are looking for something a little longer in length though to up the glamour style stakes how about this design from Jim Hjelm with its pretty little lace cap sleeves…..
For the wedding dress I love ruffles that echo the waves breaking on the shore, like this Hayley Paige ball gown with flounces of polka dotted organza…..
Of course, there is one designer who is the doyenne of texture and ruffles, whenever I see waves of fabric that make my heart skip a beat I can almost guarantee the lady behind the gown is Vera Wang. I love Lisette from her Fall 2013 Collection, so sexy and yet remaining demure thanks to its halterneck illusion neckline…..
And the breathtaking Lillian with its dramatic mermaid silhouette…..
I love how it mixes delicate chantilly lace with bold, bursting blossoms along the hemline.
Sareh Nouri’s latest collection also includes the exquisitely embellished Field of Love design with its full ruffled, silk organza skirt…..isn’t it dreamy?
I love this Inspiration Board, it is nautical without being red, white & blue and it has a timeless vintage feel. What do you think of this pretty palette? Are you planning a 2014, or 2015, beach wedding? Have you chosen your palette – I would love to hear which colours you have plumped for, or if you are thinking of any (I am always looking for inspiration board ideas)
