Sea, Sand & Pearls – Romantic Beach Wedding Inspiration in Dusky Shades of Blue

I don’t know about you, but I have been unable to get that beautiful blue ‘Sea of Love’ inspiration shoot I shared with you last week out of my head (did you miss it?? Then you simply must take a peek before going any further, because it truly is one not to be missed!) And so when I sat down to create this week’s wedding inspiration board I had only one colour palette in mind…..

Simple but sure to wow, this colour palette is elegant and chic! Inspired by the setting, it is all about the beautiful blues of the sea and the soft neutrals of the beach, complimented by splashes of mixed metallics. The dusky hues make it delicate and oh so romantic, as well as perfect for any season. I definitely see this beach wedding being a relaxed affair with a buffet style reception, blankets on the sand and the evening finished around a fire toasting smores. That doesn’t mean however you can’t add some opulent details worthy of your celebration, such as floor length dresses for your bridesmaids (just keep them floaty!), beautiful glass and silverware and an elaborately iced wedding cake. Reduce the amount of tidying required after the party by using elements from nature for decor – think a seashell lined aisle and tables of driftwood.

This is definitely a colour palette and theme your groom and his groomsmen will LOVE. Stylishly casual it means then can be relaxed and comfortable on the day in cool shirts and chinos in blue smartened up with a bow tie. If you had something a little smarter in mind for the ceremony, you can always opt for a navy blue suit (2 or 3 piece) which allows your man to remove his jacket and roll up his sleeves after the portraits.

Oh and beach weddings make for the greatest gifts for your guests, you could go with fans or parasols for the ceremony (hats for the guys!) and blankets for the evening – because whatever the season that sea breeze will make for a cool evening once the sun goes down.

I’ve always been more of a woodland wedding kind of gal, but creating this board may just have changed my mind!
