Timeless Vintage Country Wedding Inspiration

CASSIE COOK PHOTOGRAPHY

Following on from yesterday’s look at Pantone’s top 10 colours for 2017, today’s inspiration shoot is a masterclass in how the simplest colour palettes are often the most striking. In rustic neutral shades, warmed by the most romantic of sunsets as well as the odd pop of red, and with just a few carefully curated and thoughtfully styled pieces of decor, it is an utterly charming vision of a vintage country wedding!

Timeless Vintage Country Wedding Inspiration

Before we dive right in, photographer Cassie Cook is here with a little information about the inspiration behind it….. “I have a tendency to end up in thrift stores, and recently I stumbled upon an old photo album from the 1930’s and 1940’s, and it influenced me to design a wedding inspiration photoshoot based around that time and style. I wanted to take a step back in time, into an era before Facebook and hashtags and MTV. I wanted passion and love, and the timelessness that only those two emotions can offer. I wanted to incorporate my southern roots with a vintage feel, and to tie in my connection and love for music and stringed instruments. I was privileged enough to work along side some incredibly talented vendors.

I have become intrigued with film and the process of developing over the last couple of months. My favorite thing about shooting on film is the little imperfections. It’s natural to want every photo you take to be “perfect” or “correct” but sometimes, life isn’t perfect. It’s messy, it’s out of focus, its darker than you want or intended. Film photography reminds me to embrace the imperfections and quirks and accept the flaws for what they actually are; individuality. I normally just use my film camera for my own personal endeavors, but I wanted to photograph part of this session on film to achieve the vintage, 1930’s look and feel that I wanted to portray. The black and white images were shot on film and developed by hand in my own home!”

Wow, how I love this shoot! So simple, there’s a real sense of serenity….and you can almost feel the warmth from that soft setting sun just looking at the photos! A huge thankyou as always goes to everyone behind the scenes, but especially to photographer Cassie Cook for capturing the rustic beauty of it all so flawlessly. I really am starting to love this deep and dark style of photography like Cassie’s. To see more of her work pop across to her website at www.cassiecookphotography.com and be sure to follow her on Instagram, Facebook & Pinterest

If this shoot has you smitten with its rustic vintage charm, then you should most definitely take a look at this stunning rustic vintage wedding at Ghost Ranch, and you might also want to take a peek at this gorgeous greenery-filled vision. Or if you’re after something a little more seasonal then you might like to see this Autumn wedding inspiration shoot in cobalt & crimson, and this elegant inspiration board in a palette of serenity blue and neutrals is heavenly.
