A Romantic Swan Lake Inspired Wedding Styled ShootCHYMO & MORE PHOTOGRAPHY
I could stay here all day, lost in today’s truly enchanting inspiration shoot from Bloemenmeisjes! With a fairytale feel it captures the romantic love story of Swan Lake in just the most heavenly way possible – with 2 stunning wedding dresses, the prettiest floral arrangements and a garden wedding scene that is utterly breathtaking. All captured, awash with colours and the most gorgeous light, by photographer Chymo & More.….
Natalia from Bloemenmeisjes, whose imagination sparked this magic, is here with all the details…. “Our styled shoot with a touch of classic chic charm, was inspired by Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. Swan Lake is a romantic story of a a beautiful princess spellbound, appearing as a white swan during the day and a princess at night. And like most fairytales about princesses, only a true love can break this spell.
This sad, and at the same time beautiful story of a white swan came to life in the forest of Gelderland, in the Netherlands. I’m very fond of this part of The Netherlands, it has a National Park and some of the most breathtaking spots. When I approached Country Estate Groot Warnsborn, the gorgeous venue for this editorial, they were really enthusiastic about the concept and the idea. The winter weather gifted us with a few hours of sun which we gratefully captured in the pictures. Whilst the surroundings, the February forest, with its dark and grey colours gave the images a dramatic look.
We thought through every detail of this editorial; from choosing the venue, to the cutlery, table setting and the floral design. The soft watercolours, rose and blue with a touch of gold was our perfect colour palette. The floral design can be described as garden chic with a classic touch. The combination of roses, protea and eucalyptus gave the table setting and dessert table a fresh and natural look. For the sweet table we chose to have one wedding cake with sugar flowers and a cake with real flowers which worked very well. The colours of the flower arrangements and the cakes matched each other perfectly.”
See what I mean? Breathtaking! Oh and you absolutely must take a moment to watch the beautiful video captured by State of Dreaming that accompanies it – it is only a minute or so long, but really tells the tale in a way that gives you goosebumps!…..
Aren’t the bridal dresses wonderful? I was lucky enough to have designer Laura van Rooij talk me through both….. “It was quite a challenge to create the bridal gowns for this editorial. I decided we needed two dresses for it – one for the Swan Lake scene and another for the wedding ceremony. The first bridal gown was inspired by a ballet dress. It was fashioned from tulle, handmade silk flowers and sequins. The second down is a royal, more delicate and chic dress. The low back of the second dress is shaped in the curve of a swan’s wing and its bodice is sewn from costly Japanese Mikado silk. The skirt was created from a delicate fabric heavily ornamented with ivory-coloured flowers.”
Thankyou hardly seems adequate for the time and effort that must have gone into bringing to life such a creative vision of loveliness. All of the wonderful vendors involved (who you will find listed below) really did the most wonderful job of re-imagining such a classic.
If this has whet your appetite for more fairytale wedding inspiration you might want to take a look at this stunning Little Red Riding Hood inspired wedding shoot, or for more romantic wedding ideas I am sure you will love this beautiful shoot brimming with olde world romance and this Art Deco infused charmer.
I don’t know about you, but I simply can not get enough of every single detail of this shoot, so I am off to have a second look!
