A Romantic Phuket Wedding in Pretty Pastels
Photography - Pik PongpolToday’s wedding whisks us all the way to Thailand and the beautiful coastal city of Phuket for a timelessly romantic celebration with a ceremony view to remember! In fact there are so many delightful details in Bonnie & Jimmy’s beautiful destination wedding you will definitely want your pinning finger at the ready…..
I will let the happy couple talk you through why they chose their tropical destination and the special details of their big day….. “We wanted our wedding to be an adventure for our family and friends, so we chose a beautiful exotic location for our ceremony. We were attracted to the beauty of the coastal city of Phuket, as well as the hospitality of the Thai people.
We loved the idea of bringing all of our loved ones together to spend an extended amount of time together across the world. While we chose an adventurous destination, we still wanted a traditional western wedding style with modern touches.
After exploring several options, we found Iliare with Wedding Boutique Phuket. Bonnie loves feminine flowers and details, so she and Ilaire worked together to create a vision of soft, muted pastel colors and lush flowers.
The most important thing for us was for our friends and family to enjoy themselves at our wedding. We were so happy that the wedding turned out to be very intimate and enjoyable.“
THE FLOWERS
“Bonnie loves traditional pink roses, but also wanted to incorporate modern elements into the bouquet and flower arrangements. While we had many pastel flowers: dusty eucalyptus leaves, imported roses in neutral tones, veronica, lisanthius, and fresh lavender, Phuket Flower & Wedding Studio also added pampas grass and unique black and white anemones to the ceremony arch and centrepieces.”
THE DRESS
Bonnie wore a modified A-line dress with a lace scalloped train, designed by Pronovias. She chose this dress because she fell in love with the intricate lace layers and the long train. The dress has 7 layers and it was a challenge for the bridesmaids to help her put it on!
Jimmy purchased his bespoke suit from Eison Triple Thread. He had a hard time finding appropriate summer colors during the winter season in San Francisco, and decided he wanted his suit to be custom. This small company put together his suit, and allowed him to choose all the little details from the buttons to the cuffs.
FAVOURITE MOMENT
“The best part of the wedding day for us was seeing how happy all of our loved ones were when we were celebrating together.”
THE FAVORS
“Because we knew most of our friends and family were travelling with limited luggage space, our wedding favors were small agate stones with our guest names written in gold. Our guests loved that they were personal and something that would last beyond the wedding day.”
THE CAKE
“Our wedding cake was a simple 3-tier white cake beautifully decorated by
Wedding Boutique Phuket with pretty pink flowers and paper butterflies in our wedding colors.”
WORDS OF WEDDING WISDOM
“Our advice for current couples is to use the wedding-planning experience to reinforce the love and communication between all the parties involved. Planning a wedding can create trying and stressful moments, but the best takeaways from our wedding planning experience were the hours that we spent together as a couple working through the logistics and details, as well as the time we spent with our wedding party.”
THE PHOTOGRAPHY
“We found our photographer Pik Pongpol and videographers with the help of our wedding planner. We liked Pik’s portraits and clean style. We had debated about the need for a videographer, and in the end we are very glad we did hire one. The wedding goes by very quickly, and it is nice to review the moments with your guests that you may not have seen or remembered from the wedding day.”
What a romantic affair! Wasn’t their ceremony with the floral circle and ocean backdrop just stunning?? Huge congratulations to the happy couple Bonnie & Jimmy, and a big thankyou to them as well as their wonderful photographer Pik Pongpol for capturing it all so perfectly and allowing me to share it with you here.
If you love this super romantic Phuket wedding, and are considering Thailand for your own big day, then you might want to see Tammy & Kenneth’s romantic celebration, and this dreamy vision on a beautiful sandy beach.
