A Romantic Intimate Wedding in Serenity & Rose Quartz

KOBY BROWN PHOTOGRAPHY

I was head over heels for today’s romantic wedding from the very first image. In a soft pastel palette of serenity blue and rose quartz, Jimmy & Jessica’s intimate celebration, with its romantic outdoor ceremony and simply breathtaking florals, is a picture of timeless perfection!…..Oh and who could resist their sweet floral wreath adorned pup??

The couple had plenty of time to perfect every detail of their day, as they enjoyed a 5 year engagement whilst Jessica finished school. Whilst to some of us that may sound like a long time, Jessica explains why she wouldn’t have it any other way….. “I honestly loved having such a long engagement because our commitment to each other was there all along but the extra time allowed us to grow even more together and made us stronger in the long run.”

After discovering the beautiful Camp Lucy, with its picture-perfect venues and backdrops, at an Austin Monthly wedding extravaganza the couple knew that it was the perfect place to celebrate their big day.  “We were married in Dripping Springs, TX at Camp Lucy under the Stone Arch. My husband is from Dripping Springs and we both love the Texas Hill Country and wanted to have our wedding in the heart of it.”

“My dress was designed by Jasmine Couture Bridal and made me feel so glamorous. It was beyond comfortable considering it was covered in intricate beading and layers of silk and organza. I was actually considering another dress when my mom found “the one” while we were shopping at Blush Bridal in Austin, TX. She thought it evoked a vintage glamour because of the beautiful beaded sleeves and back. I was not convinced just looking at it on the hanger because I thought it would be too much, but once I slipped it on I was overwhelmed by the beauty of the dress and how wonderful it made me feel. That experience is one that I will always cherish because it was just me and my mom in the setting of the beautiful and quaint cottage that is Blush Bridal and it was beyond lovely.”

“I would have to say my most favorite moment was our First Look. We were hesitant in the beginning to have one but once I spoke with our photographers about it, I knew it was perfect for us. Before it took place my mother-in-law told me that Jimmy was starting to feel butterflies as we were nearing the ceremony and after being together for so long, hearing that made my heart flutter. The first look was perfect because we both were able to have a private moment with just the two of us and immediately felt at ease. Just being together then we knew this day was the happiest of our lives and we could not wait to celebrate.”

“I had four of my best friends by my side that day. The look I was going for was airy, romantic and effortless and they looked gorgeous!! The dresses were from Nordstrom and they were the Annabelle dress by Jenny Yoo in Hydrangea and an embellished blouson gown by Adrianna Papell.”

“My florist was Alyssa at Whim Florals and her and the team were absolutely AMAZING!!! I did not give them a huge budget to work with but I wanted our flowers to be romantic and beautiful, and the Whim Florals ladies went above and beyond, coming in under budget. I was so impressed with how they turned my vision into a reality and the florals continue to be one of my most beloved elements looking back on that day.

My colors were ivory, pale blue, navy, blush with a lot of greenery to evoke a romantic garden feel. Since we had a spring wedding, I wanted the florals to really reflect all of the in-season blooms. My bouquet was a small rounded, textured bouquet comprised of white hydrangea, peonies, spray roses, hyacinth, and tweedier with natural green accents.”

Jimmy and his groomsmen wore navy tux’s with brown cowboy boots, in true Texas boy fashion. His boutonniere was a blush spray rose and bud with green accent and finished with navy satin, with stems left exposed. His guys wore the same with an ivory spray rose.”

“My dad gave me away and it felt so exhilarating yet emotional. He was preparing to go in for back surgery a week after the wedding and was determined to be able to walk me down the aisle and to have our dance together without looking strained so it was a very big moment for us. I am also an only child and am very close to my parents so it was a beautiful moment for us to share.”

“The reception was held at Camp Lucy in their reception Lodge at Ian’s Chapel, which was a gorgeous rustic setting with a huge Limestone fireplace that our sweetheart table was nestled in front of. It was lovely and intimate with amazing speeches by my maid of honor and Jimmy’s best man, and topped off with a lovely harmonica performance by my Poppy (grandpa) who is 92! It was a fun filled night of drinking, dancing and catching up with friends and family that we do not get the chance to see often.”

“Our table centerpieces alternated between white washed lanterns with florals designed on top repurposed from the ceremony, and wood cube vases designed with natural floral and greens. The florals included white hydrangea, roses, tweedier, privet berry and spray roses. Our sweetheart table encompassed bud vases with a mixture of florals in our colors accented with tea lights. “

“Our wedding cake was made by Sweet Treats Bakery and was a three tiered cake comprised of Italian Cream, Bailey’s Vanilla, and finished off with carrot cake for our top tier. The design was a raw edged knife design with ivory buttercream frosting and accented with peonies and spray roses.”

Pearls of wedding wisdom from the bride…

“Leading up to our wedding the advice that I really took to heart from other brides was to enjoy the day and not to worry. That day was ultimately for Jimmy and I to enjoy each other and to be surrounded by the people who have loved and supported us throughout our journey together, and that is exactly what I did.

If I could give any advice to other brides it would be to surround yourself with friends and a wedding coordinator who truly care about you and give you the confidence that you are well taken care of. I was able to fully enjoy the day because I had an amazing support system and the most loving friends and family a girl could ask for.”

Tell us a little bit about your photographer…

” Our photographers, Koby and his wife Elizabeth were SENSATIONAL!! They were my first pick as I had been a huge fan of their work after they had photographed a high school acquaintance of mine’s wedding. I absolutely fell in love with the dreamy and ethereal look of their wedding editorials, and I knew I wanted them to capture our big day. Koby and Elizabeth were a complete dream to work with. They made us feel so at ease while shooting our engagement photos and portraits and we felt as if we had known them for years. I honestly cannot say enough good things about them. They are just all around great human beings and I will always cherish the moments that they captured so beautifully.”
