There is so much to swoon over in today’s gorgeous English-garden meets Spanish-ranch wedding from Carmen Santorelli Photography, from the oh so beautiful colour palette, to the lush florals and romantic ceremony, to the vintage ice-cream themed reception (complete with vintage ice-cream scoop favours); it is a vision of loveliness from the very first image – so be sure to have your pinning finger ready before scrolling any further!

I love seeing couples create a celebration that is unique as they are, and the beautiful Amber and her dapper groom Jason gave their romantic San Diego wedding an unforgettable personal spin with some fun and meaningful details. With a very clear idea of the style of wedding they wanted, the couple set out to find the venue and team to make their big day dreams a reality, and they hit the jackpot when they stumbled across the fabulous Amorology. I will let Amber tell you all about it…..

“Since we met and fell in love in San Diego (and because the weather is kind of spectacular) we decided it was the perfect place to start our lives together. I scoured the web and magazines for the perfect planner in that area, and that’s when I came across Heather and the Amorology team. I fell in love with a wedding they had created and knew I needed to work with them!

Flash forward a year and a few months later, our wedding day finally arrived and thanks to Amorology it was THE perfect day. I wanted the convenience of a hotel wedding without a cookie-cutter package. I waxed poetic about the merits of an indoor/outdoor English garden style wedding set against Spanish ranch architecture, and as impossible as that sounds they made the dream a beautiful reality (thanks for existing Rancho Valencia!) Everything was created in a palette of creams, copper, and lunar grey with touches of brass and accents of wood and simply everything was carefully designed to make it feel special and unique to us.”

“Heather and the Amorology team brought in actual church pews for the outdoor ceremony.” And how beautiful do they look? Especially interspersed with those elegant chairs. Knowing it would be hot out there under the summer sun they also thoughtfully provided parasols for the guests.

The bouquets were a romantic mix of roses, chrysanthemum and camellia in the softest shades of creamy white, pink and vintage gold.

“The moon cutout backdrop built from reclaimed wood that was a nod to a story about a boy and the moon that my mom told me as a little girl.” 

The boys looked so stylish in their rented tuxes from Generation Tux “They got my wonderful husband, his groomsmen, and his father looking so sharp, so conveniently, on the big day! Thank you Generation Tux for introducing tuxedo rentals to the 21st century!”

“The free standing beer bar, with working taps, was aptly called “Rock Bottom” because we met at an after work happy hour at Rock Bottom Brewery in San Diego.”

“Calligraphy place cards alluding to the moon sat at each place setting atop tin ceiling tiles that doubled as chargers.” And don’t you just love the addition of the golden amaranth to the centrepieces to bring out the touches of copper in the place settings?

“To play to our love of ice cream we had vintage ice scream scoops to serve as table markers as well as lovely take home favors for our guests.”
