Inspired by nature, vintage fashion and art, every piece is handmade with love and care. Jennifer, the talented lady behind Mignonne Handmade uses old school techniques and vintage millinery tools with a modern eye, creating truly one of a kind pieces.

The inspiration behind this the latest collection was none other than my favourite vintage escapism Downton Abbey (has anyone seen the Season 3 teasers?? Art Deco divine!!) and this truly beautiful photo of Jennifer’s maternal Grandmother taken in around 1925 at her first communion…..

Full of charming tulle bridal caps, delicate Alencon lace veils, exquisite headbands and whimsical floral crowns, it is easy to see the influence of the photo on this collection!

From Jennifer “Created from the highest quality silks, laces, and tulle each piece glows with handcrafted uniqueness. We also employed some new techniques with metals and have incorporated brass pieces all of which are artfully designed and hand soldered together in our studio. Nature prevails in these designs with art nouveau influenced, highly stylized floral motifs and soft fluid forms.” 

The use of freshwater pearl, cream lace, blush silk and brass, gives this collection such richness….
