Mid-Century-Modern Cocktail Party Wedding Inspiration
JAMIE MERCURIO PHOTOGRAPHYWith Summer in full swing today’s wedding inspiration shoot couldn’t be any more perfect! A garden celebration inspired by the retro glamour of the 1960s, but with an unmistakably modern twist, complete with cocktails and a banquet of the most delicious looking food. And all in a bright and bold palette that is seriously seasonal!
Inspired by a mutual love for all things mid-century, photographer Jamie Mercurio and Sara of Lulu & Co. Events got together a team of talented local wedding pros to create their vision of a 1960s inspired cocktail party wedding! Captured at The Stonehouse Manor, it is filled with the most fabulous florals: dreamy bouquets, table arrangements, and a wall installation created by Leslie of Marigold Floral Studio.
As Jamie and Sara were sourcing props for the shoot at Portland Flea For All, they also happened across the most amazing 1960’s asymmetrical white cocktail dress, with beaded neckline and adorable bow. They both loved it so much that they bought it then and there. And it just happened to be the perfect fit for their bride, Tara – talk about fate!
The retro pedestal table, white wire egg chairs and vintage glassware and candlesticks, were also all finds from the Portland Flea For All! The yummy looking Asian-inspired cuisine was whipped up by Harvest Moon Catering Co. and the snazzy laser cut wood for the invitation suite, as well as the chic mirrored drink stirs with atomic stars, were the creation of Jen Pepper from The Chatty Press.
The brocade bridesmaid dress was another vintage find, this time Everchanging Seasons. Whilst the girls’ mid-century-inspired hair and makeup was created by Ariel Johnson Makeup who gave the beehive-and-big-ponytail styles of the time a contemporary twist.
Every detail came together so perfectly to create an unforgettably stylish Summer celebration! So be sure to have your pinning finger ready before scrolling any further…..
Isn’t it fab?? I just love the bright bold palette and those beautiful florals! And is it just me or has it left you wanting a bar cart?? An instant pop of glamour to any home, plus who doesn’t need cocktails on wheels?! Here are a few I found…..
Back to the shoot though, I can’t thank everyone involved behind the scenes enough, but especially Jamie Mercurio who captured every stylish detail so perfectly.
