‘Love Notes’ – a 1940s Inspired Love Shoot with a Surprise Proposal
The countdown to Chic Vintage Bride‘s official birthday has started – just 10 days to go! I am super excited about what we (Mr E and I) have planned to celebrate the occasion….. but am a little nervous about sharing too much at the moment (just in case) I may sneak peek a few things on Facebook though – if I am feeling brave 🙂
As if birthday plans aren’t exciting enough, today I have an engagement shoot for you that is guaranteed to make your heart sing…..
‘Love Notes’ was an idea from Darren at CK Metro Photography (the man behind the lens at this Armidale Winter Wonderland wedding) about a couple in love. It is the age old tale of boy meets girl and falls in love, before being conscripted to go to war. Forced to leave his true love behind, he gives part of his heart (1/2 of a gold heart). All through his time away he sends love letters, with a complete gold heart and a promise that they will meet again after the war. His final letter to his love states he is coming home, at last, and will meet her at their special meeting place – the Ipswich Railway Museum.
This is such an incredibly creative, well thought out and perfectly styled shoot. There was moment in the day however that was not part of the script, one moment that was not planned by the team behind the shoot, one moment that was a huge surprise to everyone….and that was an actual proposal!!
Darren explains ‘It was one of those shoots that you had to actually stop to think about and ask yourself “Did that actually happen”, which it did! What started as a 1940′s inspired and themed couples shoot turned into a beautifully romantic surprise proposal. It is not often that us photographers get to take part in such a special moment as a wedding proposal, but on this day Todd proposed to his true love Courtney with a classic “Tiffany” engagement ring….’
(ah these photos never fail to move me…)
(you can see more of this gorgeous shoot on Darren’s CK Metro Photography blog)
Such an amazing shoot, I just can not get enough of it. Thank-you Darren for letting me share ‘Love Notes’ on CVB and a huge congratulations to the stars of the shoot, the beautiful happy couple Courtney and Todd – Congratulations on your engagement (I can’t wait to see the wedding!)
Amy
