30 Exquisite & Elegant Long Sleeved Wedding Dresses for 2015
Just as with high street fashion, bridal trends invariably come and go. Whilst some are clearly never destined to be loved for long (bridal crop tops?), some are so timeless you imagine they will be en-vogue forever! It is inevitably those bridal trends I always love the most, those that stand the test of time, that will still look as beautiful and breathtaking in 5o, 60 or 100 years from now as they do today. All too often they are trends we have seen before, that were loved and worn by women 50, 60 100 years before us. And a perfect example of just such a trend is long sleeve wedding dresses!
It may well have been that royal wedding in 2011 that started the most recent revival of this look, however they have long been associated with more graceful and refined times – 55 years before Kate, Grace Kelly was the epitome of elegance in her iconic Helen Rose creation. Long sleeves, especially of lace, evoke romance, create the sleekest of silhouettes and give a bride a demure air of elegance. So, whilst it may be almost 4 years since the wedding that revived them, it seems long sleeve wedding dresses is a trend that is only increasing in popularity, with brides and designers alike – the 2015 bridal catwalks were positively awash with them! Which is why today I am indulging in my love for them again (you can see my past posts on this trend here and here) and sharing 30 of the most exquisite and elegant from the very latest bridal collections.
After his dramatic debut bridal collection, designer Naeem Khan upped the style stakes further with his stunning second collection and elaborately embellished Marbella utterly stole my heart with its hint of Edwardian elegance but with a modern edge…..
Of course if there is one designer who can always be relied on to create bridal gowns brimming with decadence and fairytale romance, it is Monique Lhuillier! And with the exquisite Elizabeth from her fall 2015 collection she took my breath away…..
And a little lacier but no less luxurious or alluring is the beautiful Autumn…..
Sareh Nouri has a feminine, sophisticated signature style and Sara Beth from her 2015 collection, with its ¾ length sleeves, illusion neckline and plunging back, is the perfect gown for the elegant modern bride looking for a wedding dress that exudes romance…..
Reem Acra‘s Fall 2015 Collection was like something from a Midsummer Night’s Dream and this ethereally elegant gown would be fitting for Titania the Fairy Queen herself!…..
Known for their intricate embroidery, lashings of lace and stunning silhouettes, Catherine Deane’s modern interpretations of elegance from the past never fail to wow and Lia is no exception…..
Those of you who have been following Chic Vintage Brides for some time may remember the glimpse I shared of Ersa Atelier’s Spring 2015 Collection (I don’t think anyone who saw it could ever forget it!) And the fall collection is just as exuberant and glamorous with the long sleeved Leda one of my favourites…..
Still high on the glamour stakes but with a little more Old Hollywood elegance, Enzoani‘s Jordan is long lace sleeves at their most chic…..

I love the deep V back to it that brings the design bang up to date with the recent trend for portrait backs.
It is impossible to discuss royal weddings without thinking of the regal and impossibly romantic latest collection from Inbal Dror which was full of long sleeves, demure coverups and high necklines, in the slinkiest of silhouettes, just perfect for the bride who wants to feel like a modern-day princess!
Speaking of slinky silhouettes, how about the exquisitely embellished Capricornio from Pronovias?…..

It was Leonardo Da Vinci I think who said simplicity is the ultimate sophistication, and how right he was! The stunning Segovia from Rosa Clara has a hint of 1950s grace and is the epitome of chic…..
Sal is a little more sleek but no less chic…..
Whilst Santafe is alluring in delicate lace with an opulent train…..
In equal parts grand and romantic with its bodice of corded lace and skirt of layers of tulle, this design from Marchesa strikes the perfect balance between timeless elegance and of the moment modern…..

With stunning beaded embroidery that has a hint of Gatsby glamour, Aisha from Aire Barcelona is a showstopping gown for a sophisticated bride…..
With the most delicate lace sleeves and the prettiest boat neckline, Amar on the other hand has a charming air of sweet innocence…..
Of course I couldn’t complete this list without a dress from the designer of my own wedding dress! Jenny Packham’s modern take on the enduring elegance of eras past always sets my heart fluttering and her Spring 2015 collection which included the heavenly Josephine, was simply divine…..
And last but not least one of my favourite long sleeve wedding dresses from the recent collections, from Jesus Peiro…. it deserves a far more beautiful name than 4077!
I don’t know about you, but I for one am over the moon that the love of long sleeve wedding dresses is only increasing. Long may this trend last!
