An Intimate Vintage Wedding at an Austrian Castle
LINSE 2 PHOTOGRAPHYWhen it comes to wow wedding venues, there is nothing quite like an Austrian castle! Which is just where today’s vintage loving couple held their intimate wedding celebration. Filled with love and so many beautiful details in a rosé palette of delicate pinks and purples it is tailor made for romantics and lovers of old world elegance…..
After getting engaged on their 10th anniversary wedding photographers Mona & Karl planned their dream celebration in just 6 months! They knew lots of lovely venues from their job as wedding photographers, but finding the perfect place for their intimate celebration was not so easy. That was until they found Schloss Wartholz in the beautiful surroundings of Austria’s Mountains!
They celebrated their love just with closest family and friends with a romantic outdoor ceremony in the shadows of the castle. The venue and the couple’s strict dress code for the guests: ladies in rosé and gents in dapper black suits and ties; made for one of the most photogenic weddings I have ever seen.
Mona found her Rembo Styling wedding dress in a little shop called Atelier 7 in Vienna. Perfectly fitting for their vintage theme it was very much of the style of dresses from the 1930s and 1940s – a period whose fashion has always fascinated Mona. Although she was very excited to have found a dress she loved, it was not quite perfect yet. Speaking to the couturier she mentioned wanting removable long sleeves, and when she showed him how they should look he was utterly enchanted. It was then that Mona knew she has found her dream dress!
As both Mona & Karl adore antiques, the couple decided their wedding decor should also be vintage. Their chosen color scheme was pastel rosé, with lots of wood elements. Almost every detail of the table settings at their reception was made by them (during busy evenings creating with love): candle lights, place cards, stationary, table decoration, etc; with each element telling a bit of their love story. For instance, they had been collecting wine corks since their first date, little knowing that one day the same corks would be the holders for their table numbers and escort cards on their wedding some day. Whilst other details such as the cigar boxes, the vases for the centerpieces and lace table linens were found by the couple and their families during many visits to local flea markets.
After the couple shared their first kiss to the song “Kiss”, they decided the theme of their wedding had to be “Kiss Forever”, which they incorporated into their invitations and wine bottles.
Their delicious looking naked wedding cake by Schnabulerie was adorned with fresh blooms to match Mona’s beautiful bouquet, and a tiny ‘Mr & Mrs Blümel’ bunting tied with lace. It was served with macarons in matching shades of pink and purple.
Whilst their guests were enjoying a drink – and a cigar – the couple disappeared with their photographers to make the most of their beautiful venue. Just as the sun started to set, they found a small lake in the private gardens of castle Wartholz, with an old landing stage and a rowing boat called “Little Titanic”The light was magical and it was the perfect place to capture their love, and enjoy the last moments of their special day.
Don’t you just love it? Especially that stunning venue! Many congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Blümel, and special thanks to their lovely photographers Daniela & Roland of Linse 2 who did the most wonderful job of capturing their fairytale day.
