Jenny Packham’s Radiant Spring 2017 Bridal Collection
We may be only half way through 2016, but bridal designers are already unveiling their offerings for 2017 brides, and I couldn’t be more excited! Today I am sharing the Spring 2017 collection from Jenny Packham, ever a favourite here at Chic Vintage Brides (I was a JP bride myself afterall!). Whilst it was presented in a way that was a little more rustic than we have come to expect from the designer; the dresses…. well, they were every bit as beautiful as past collections!
The catwalk was staged in a hay bale filled barn, reminiscent of the great plains’ states and country singers many of the designs were named after, and inspired by the afterglow of a rustic, wild and whimsical night – a far cry from her typically ethereal past collections (who could forget last year’s Midsummer Night’s Dream setting or the celestial backdrop to her 2015 collection). But each dress in her 2017 offering shone against its rustic surroundings.
Glitter flock tulle trains, sparkling beaded lace, silk tulle overlays and cascading tiered skirts are all recurring themes in this he latest collection. And there is of course plenty of the vintage inspired form fitting silhouettes Jenny Packham is renowned for, as well as the exquisite art deco embellishments we all adore. Colour, as always, plays an important part in the collection, with dresses in pretty Spring shades of barley, soft blossom pink and misty green.
Some of my favourite designs are those adorned with floral appliqués, they will be so perfect for adding a touch of sophisticated glamour to romantic Garden weddings. Whilst sunbursts and bell sleeves add a hint of boho charm to the collection, other dresses will appeal to the chic modern bride thanks to their open backs, plunging necklines and thigh-high splits. Offering contemporary glamour, timeless elegance and ethereal boho beauty; Jenny Packham’s 2017 bridal collection is for the modern bride with a romantic heart and wanderlust soul…..
Unmistakably Jenny Packham but adding a little something fresh and new, I think this collection is enchantingly effervescent! What Jenny never forgets is how a woman should feel on her wedding and day, and so her gowns are always designed to create stunning silhouettes and move in the most beautiful way – with incredible cuts, fabrics and embellishments. In fact there is no designer better at flattering the female form. So if you love the look of these gowns, just wait until you slip one on!
If you would like to make an appointment to try on a Jenny Packham wedding dress, she is stocked worldwide and a full list of stockists can be found over on her website here. I don’t mind admitting to being more than a little envious of any bride who might get to wear one of these beauties….. I really must work on Mr E and that vow renewal!
And if you want a little reminder of the beauty of past Jenny Packham collections, or perhaps see them for the first time if you missed their unveiling the first time around, you can do so here: 2016, 2015, 2014 and 2013. You can also see more from this incredible designer and stay up to date with all the latest JP news, trunk shows and collections by following the lovely lady on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.
