A Stunning Summer Winery Wedding in White from Meredith Lord Photography
Today’s chic winery wedding features a beautiful wedding dress from one of Chic Vintage Brides‘ newest sponsors Rose & Delilah, a simple palette of white with splashes of lavender and was captured by one of my favourite photographers Meredith Lord, so its fair to say I am more than a little in love with it!
After moving to London a few years ago, and getting engaged on New Year’s Eve 2011 (Christian, you old romantic!) Holly & Christian chose to come back home to NZ for their Summer winery wedding. Of course planning a wedding from the other side of the world has its challenges, but this laid back couple took each one in their stride and planned a relaxed yet elegant celebration surrounded by friends, family and everyone they miss – and it sounds like it was the perfect day!
A few words from the lovely Meredith before we jump head first into every last detail “What can I say about Holly & Christian?….. they’re super fun, super relaxed and they make a stunning couple! The first time I met these two was the day before their wedding. We had been conversing via email for quite some time and although you get a feel for someone I still really had no clue what to expect. And was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the venue. They had a bevvy of helpers putting all the details together while we sat and chatted about how the day would run. As it was, all they wanted was for it to be a fun and relaxed day – and that was exactly how it went! Hawke’s Bay put on a stunning day for them – considering this was the first time they’d been back in New Zealand since moving to the UK a couple of years ago, so friends and family were treated to the best of the best Hawke’s Bay had to offer – weather, food, wine and the beautiful surrounding vineyard of Sileni Estate. I had so much fun with Holly and Christian and their bridal party. By the time I left them at the reception my face was sore from all the smiling and laughing. It was truly a fabulous day!”
All of the lovely bouquets were created by Holly’s stepmum Maree. Gypsophila and lisianthus for the bridal bouquet and gypsophila for the bridesmaids, all in white to tie into the chic and simple colour palette.
Holly’s dress was the beautiful Ava from Rose & Delilah. How beautiful is the plunging v back with that glimpse of lace? And those lovely sweet lace cap sleeves?
Her two bridesmaids were her sisters. I love the lace bibs on their pretty blush bridesmaid dresses!
Their shabby chic seating plan was made from an old door by Holly’s Dad and then decorated with vintage photos frames.
I love the cards the couple left on each table that continued the bike theme and enabled every guest to leave their mark!
In place of favours the couple had a yummy looking candy bar for guests to help themselves to!
Holly & Christian’s yummy looking wedding cake was created by Sugar Queen Cakery. Two tiers one of lemon and one of chocolate, simply iced and topped with lavender. I love how the scattering of petals just soften the display table.
If you could turn back the clock, what would you change?…..
“We would have our wedding earlier – to make the celebrations last longer! And I would wear my wedding dress from the moment I woke up!”
The groom & groomsmen‘s cool linen suits were a lucky find on London’s Oxford Street.
Pearls of Wedding Wisdom from the Bride…..
“Love every minute!… The planning will all be worth it!… Don’t stress the small stuff!… And be happy! Weddings are fun, but even more so when its your own!”
Planning a wedding from the other side of the world must have its challenges, not least finding a photographer!
