Strawberry Fields – Summer Wedding Inspiration in Red, White & Blue

Do you remember those perfect Summer wedding colour palettes I shared last month? Well, I asked all of you who follow Chic Vintage Brides on Facebook to vote for your favourite, and whilst it was a close one (with this heavenly palette losing by just one vote), the most popular was Strawberry Fields! A bold and fun palette of red, white and blue, it is easy to see why you picked it, as it is just perfect for the season!……

I chose to shy away from the traditional coastal and nautical theme for this colour scheme, and instead added a hint of pink for a more romantic garden feel. Choosing red for the floral arrangements and majority of the decor, with just splashes of blue to contrast, and for the groom, keeps this colour scheme sophisticated and romantic. There’s something about it though that gives you the opportunity to have a little fun – add whimsical details like strawberries to your floral arrangements, quirky statement heels to your outfit and paper windmills (pinwheels) for your escort cards; to create a uniquely personal celebration.

Much as I love the red, white & blue bow tie, novelty isn’t for everyone! Keep the navy blue suit but pair it with a white dress shirt and a floral boutonniere for an elegant alternative for your groom – poppies, anemones, ranunculus and roses all come in the perfect shade of red. Oh and if you’re not planning a garden wedding but love this colour scheme don’t be put off, because such a pretty palette and all of these gorgeous details would be just as perfect for a barn, church, mountainside or beach wedding, as it would for the garden celebration I had in mind when creating this board.
