Vintage Honeymoon Fashion Inspiration from Tara Whittaker
Good morning! I might be reaching the end of another wet day here in usually sunny Hawkes Bay, but I know most of you will soon be waking up, hopefully to a bright and beautiful morning. Don’t be glum though if the sun isn’t shining where you are either, for I am about to whisk you off to a sun soaked beach! Recently, I promised you more Honeymoon inspiration here on Chic Vintage Brides and today I am excited to be able to share the most fabulous vintage honeymoon fashion shoot with you. I promise it is absolutely guaranteed to warm you up and get you into the holiday spirit!
Planning the holiday of a lifetime must be almost as exciting as planning the big day itself. Sadly Mr E and I never really had a Honeymoon – unless you can call moving to the other side of the world a month later a Honeymoon? But I can just imagine the excitement of booking a beautiful hotel and the flights to get there, and then of course turning your attention to the ever so important wardrobe!! If you love fashion with a hint of vintage, swimwear with that old world charm, coverups and accessories that ooze glamour and scream siren, then you are going to love this shoot! I’ll hand over to Tara Whittaker, the lady behind the camera, to tell you a little more about the inspiration behind it….. “The vintage-inspired beachwear that’s trending right now has really captured my attention. I love the high waists, bold prints and flirty ruched details…ideal for soaking up the sun. Updated versions of these retro silhouettes are flattering and fun for today’s bride on a beach honeymoon.
I was recently in Kelowna, British Columbia and teamed up with some fab vendors who shared my vision including Georgie Girl vintage boutique, make-up Artist Jenny McKinney and hair Stylist, Kris from Inspirado. In addition to the beachwear, we added a “going away outfit” and some flirty summer dresses to fill a bride’s suitcase for any occasion. This blend of modern and vintage treasures has me daydreaming of a sunny honeymoon on the Amalfi Coast.” Oh me too Tara, me too!
Isn’t it sweet? Styled to perfection I love everything about it from those victory rolls, to that pretty parasol – oh and just wait until you see the darling high waisted swimsuit and kimono in the second half of this shoot! If you’re loving the look as much as I am take a peek at some of the things I found, just perfect for a vintage inspired honeymoon wardrobe.
Create this look yourself with…..
A big thankyou to the whole team behind this fabulous shoot – Georgie Girl vintage boutique, make-up Artist Jenny McKinney and hair Stylist, Kris from Inspirado, plus of course photographer and stylist Tara Whittaker, for allowing me to share it with you.
Right, I’m off to book a mini moon and do a spot of shopping!
