Elegant Wedding Inspiration in a Palette Perfect for any Season
CASSIE CLAIRE PHOTOGRAPHYWhen it comes to color palettes often the most simple are also the most sophisticated, and today’s monochromatic styled shoot not only epitomises chic but the heavenly shades of blue would also make a perfect choice whatever season wedding you are planning! Dreamed up by the lovely ladies of Aisle Society and showcasing the Fall 2017 collection from David’s Bridal if it doesn’t have you dreaming of a monochromatic wedding, nothing will…..
Inspired by a stunning David’s Bridal wedding dress by Melissa Sweet that features ethereal, ice-blue blooms cascading down the bodice, the creative team decided to push conventional wedding color palettes by playing in a world of only blue. Creating a vision that is light & airy with elevated design and style. An open plan loft space served as the perfect backdrop, giving the styled shoot a romantic modern metropolitan feel.
The bride’s gown was just the starting point of her romantic look however which was complimented by sapphire hued jewels and the most perfect accessories, including a two-tier cathedral-length veil and a sparkly headband. Mismatched bridesmaids dresses in delicate shades of blue lace completed the bridal party, with each of the ladies carrying beautifully loose wild flower bouquets created by Diana Gould.
The creative team upped the wow factor of their chosen venue with a statement ceremony installation that is easily one of my favourite design details from the whole shoot. The massive backdrop featured a diamond grid, inspired by harlequin style tiles, with a dazzling brushed metallic overlay that sent light dancing around the light and airy loft. Ghost chairs were chosen to line the ceremony, adding to the sense of light and allowing the backdrop to take centre stage .
Ghost chairs were also the perfect accent to the glass top reception table. An elongated flower box was created running the full length of the table, with a variety of blooms hugging the box like the forest floor, whilst statuesque flowers stretched tall reaching for the sun.
As with the ceremony backdrop, pattern also played a big role in the wedding tablescape, yet again encouraging a sense of light and movement. Each place setting featured 4 tiers, infused with various shades of blue, creating a calm and inviting feel. Whilst I love the colored stemware, the showpiece for me were the hand dyed shibori napkins from Make Craft Workshop which flowed right off the tabletop.
The wedding cake continued the play on movement and whimsy with a tassel waterfall swaying from the exposed loft ceiling, perfectly framing the minimalist 3-tier cake. Displayed on a short white pedestal standing atop a metal table it too took on the feel of an art installation.
Isn’t it just divine?! With almost every style element of this shoot (bridal gown, accessories, jewelry, bridesmaids dresses, and even stationery!) coming from David’s Bridal, they make such a great choice for any bride. Their brand is built on the ideal that every woman deserves to have the wedding dress of her dreams regardless of her style preference, shape, size or budget. And their exclusive assortment of bridal gowns, including a collection from my favourite designer Jenny Packham, features a broad spectrum of silhouettes, lengths and styles, empowering you to find a look that is as unique as you are for your special day. And I think you will agree, their bridesmaids dresses are just dreamy!
A huge thankyou to David’s Bridal and all of the wedding professionals and creatives involved, and especially to the lovely Cassi Claire for capturing it all so beautifully.
