Misty Romance – Elegant Wedding Inspiration in Soft Shades of Grey & Green
I am more than a little in love with today’s light and airy Summer wedding inspiration board – in fact it has to be my favourite yet! Because instead of the traditional bright and beautiful hues we so often associate with Summer, I took one of 2017’s biggest trends, greenery, and gave it a splash of cool grey and blue to create a look that is vintage but with an understated elegance that is unmistakably contemporary…..

With a Summer wedding you want to make the most of the season with an outdoor ceremony and reception I am sure. But whether you go backyard, vineyard or country estate don’t forget to provide some protection from the Summer sun for your guests – think parasols, hats and suncream. Or find a spot under the canopy of a tree to offer some natural shade, as well as a perfect place to hang some lighting!
Whilst Summer is the perfect season for a floral affair, foliage is the flower of choice at the moment, so when it comes to your bouquet, centerpieces, aisle decor, wedding cake or even your hair, think greenery, greenery and more greenery. Ferns lend a contemporary feel and work beautifully with this soft, cool color palette.
Let the lush greenery and the backdrop of your chosen venue shine by keeping the decor in neutral colors. But keep your celebration from looking too modern with calligraphy stationery, vintage furniture, and cut crystal ware. And yes, that soft grey or cool blue are the perfect shades for your groom’s & groomsmen’s suits! They will look so summery in a 2 (or even a 3) piece suit, paired with a crisp white shirt and tie.
