Ebony & Garnet – Dramatic Halloween Wedding Inspiration
The end of October is fast approaching which can only mean one thing! Time to dust off those cauldrons, carve your pumpkins and get the broomsticks out for All Hallow’s Eve. Here on Chic Vintage Brides I always celebrate this ghostly holiday with an inspiration board (you can take a peek at past years here, here and here) – and I think you’ll agree this years is anything but ghastly!

Mixing black and dark grey with rich reds, and just a hint of purple, creates a dramatic color palette that exudes luxury. Layer velvet, feathers, ebony and of course candles for a chic touch of the macabre. But keep it romantic by balancing the deep and dark with the light and airy! Add silk ribbons, lush organic florals and lace in contrasting shades of pale pink, hazy heather and soft cream. I like to think of the whole look as a contemporary (and pretty) take on gothic!
The best thing about this colour theme is that it would work in almost any venue: it would wow your guests in a historical country estate house, it would look elegant in a hotel, stunning in an inner city loft space and and it would lend luxury and drama to an outdoor celebration! Whatever your chosen venue, I love the idea of sipping champagne (or mulled wine!) in front of a roaring fire, before dancing the night away and making an unforgettable getaway with a sparkler exit.
If you love the idea of a Halloween wedding but this colour palette isn’t for you, I have lots of other ideas perfect for the season here on the pages of Chic Vintage Brides. Like this moody romantic elopement, this lush floral editorial or for more gothic glamour this Halloween inspiration board is breathtaking!
If it’s the garnet red in this color palette that has stolen your heart but you’re not planning a Halloween celebration, just take a peek at how beautiful this shade can look mixed with gold and pink, or it can look just as perfect paired with shades of blue or how about gold and blush? Oh, and you will love these 21 ideas for a gorgeous garnet wedding!
