Gothic Glamour – Elegant Halloween Wedding Inspiration in Black, Red & Gold

Happy Halloween! I couldn’t let today pass without popping in and sharing this year’s Halloween wedding inspiration board, especially after you all loved last year’s (which you can see here if you are new to Chic Vintage Brides or missed it) so much! Where last year I went with the traditional colour palette of orange and black, this year I decided to go with something a little more gothic…..

Keeping black as my base, of course, we are talking Halloween after all! I added a rich burgundy red and Marsala (Pantone‘s colour of the year for 2015 – as it may be my last chance to use it) to a burnished gold and warm brown to create a palette that is as glamorous as it is gothic and sophisticated as it is spooky! Much as I love this colour combination for Halloween, it is perfect for the bold bride and would look just as lovely for a wedding on any other day. And whilst I can’t help but swoon when a bride pushes the boundaries in terms of colour, a rich ivory or gold wedding dress would be as breathtaking as black for those of you who would rather go with tradition.

With this gothic colour scheme, add a little Victorian romance and drama to your celebration with candlesticks and candelabras, crystal cut glasses, calligraphy, gold chargers and ornate cutlery. And of course when it comes to lighting, important for any wedding but especially for a Halloween celebration, it has to be candles! Oh so chic, and always a little spooky, they create the most romantic of atmospheres and add a little warmth for these darker and colder months.
