Introducing Nestina Accessories’ 2015 Collection
For those of you are new to the blog, Saturday’s posts are dedicated to those people who inspire and enable me to write Chic Vintage Brides. To the creative designers, photographers, stationers and wedding professionals, without whom I couldn’t be doing what I am doing today, my lovely sponsors. I take great pleasure and pride in sharing their beautiful work with you, in the hope that through one of these posts, on one of these pages your dream wedding dress, photographer, florist, or the perfect accessory awaits you; and that I might play some small part in making your wedding day perfect – and your planning journey a whole lot easier! Today, I am pleased to be introducing you to one of CVBs very newest sponsors Nestina Accessories; as well as sharing a glimpse of her latest gorgeous collection of bridal hair accessories and headpieces for 2015…..
Nestina Accessories is a one woman show run by home mom Ernestine Blesso. With a vision to make “couture “affordable she specializes in creating feminine and beautifully handmade bridal accessories from headbands, combs, pins and veils, to sashes, shoes, clips, clutches, garters and even jewelry – pretty much everything, but the dress – at a price that won’t break any brides budget! (with veils starting from as little as just over $40 and many of her beaded bridal hair accessories less than $100) This, her latest collection, was inspired by her obsession with beading embellishment and I just know you are going to love the delicate mix of rhinestones, glass beads, pearls and lace that give each piece a lovely soft, touch of vintage and creates wonderfully romantic, statement bridal accessories.
Ernestine describes her journey into bridal couture as ‘unexpected’ – and I would add in which case that it was certainly a happy accident! “I worked over 10 years as financial controller in an investment bank; which I absolutely loved, but after our wedding in 2008, and first child a year later, I found that I love my family more than my job and decided to stay home for a couple of years. When I made that decision, I never thought that I would be designing bridal accessories and making a living out of it today! The inspiration to create Nestina occurred one day in November 2010 after a long day searching the web for flat shoes with big bold bow clips (I confess I have a slight obsession with bright and beautifully adorned ballet flats). It was only when I found the bow shoe clips I was looking for, that I thought to myself, but I could make these myself – and in as many colors as I liked! I came from a crafty house with my mom always doing something and us, always around to help; so the idea felt natural and exciting.
Discovering Etsy was the moment of my epiphany: “I can open my own shop and sell my shoe clips.” 11 months later, after countless hours of learning handmade techniques to make flowers, how to use millinery tools, jewelry making, sewing; countless hours online and offline looking for supplies, suppliers, and inspiration, and a couples sales on Etsy with some great feedback from customers, Nestina Accessories was born.”
“NESTINA, a nickname that my friends used in high school and college, comes from my name Ernestine. Since 2010 Nestina has grown tremendously and as well as being sold on various marketplaces (my website www.nestinaccessories.com and 3 shops on Etsy) has now entered the wholesale market. The brand is proudly stocked in various boutiques around the world (Australia, Japan, France, Canada and USA)
All items in my collections are made in my home studio using the finest and best supplies I can find to make great quality couture pieces at affordable prices. And I now offer a wide range of items for bridesmaids & flower girls as well as the bride.”
These are just a few of the lovely pieces available, my favourites! You can see more of the collection over at www.nestinaccessories.com or here on her BridesBoutik store on Etsy. Because Ernestine’s designs are handmade to order and not mass produced, each can be customized and created in different colors, sizes or fabrics to ensure your accessory is as unique as you are, and just what you are looking for. And with over 500 reviews of her sales so far, averaging a perfect 5 stars, you can trust you are going to love what she creates for you! (you can read all of her reviews here) Oh and when you’re ready for the next exciting phase in your life, Ernestine also creates the cutest baby crowns, halos and headbands, perfect for an adorable newborn shoot.
