A Boho Vintage Wedding in the Colorado Mountains

We’re off to the stunning Colorado mountains for today’s beautifully boho celebration; where Bailey & Chad combined rustic vintage charm with their bohemian free spirits to create the most romantic wedding. And if the ceremony overlooking the lake doesn’t take your breath away, I don’t know what will!…..

Reflecting their fun-loving and laid back personalities, the couple chose the picturesque Piney River Ranch with its magnificent natural surroundings, to wow their very nearest and dearest with an intimate celebration of their love. Bailey explains “We made our wedding day about us by choosing to have a small destination wedding with all our close family and friends. This allowed us to spend the night making memories and dancing the night away, rather than catching up with distant relatives and old friends.”

Wanting to highlight her affinity for florals, and complement rather than compete with the natural beauty of the surroundings, Bailey chose seasonal and wildflowers in soft shades of blush and ivory. Rachel of March Floral Designs created exquisite arrangements for throughout the day, my favourite of which though has to be the wildflower semi-circle that Bailey & Chad stood in during their ceremony (it’s a floral version of the pampas grass one we saw in this Fall wedding inspiration!)

The bridesmaids wore mismatched ivory and peach dresses reflecting their individual styles, and all held similar but uniquely different bouquets with trailing ribbons that fluttered in the mountain breeze. Their greenery filled flower crowns were the perfect finishing touch to their

I love the display for vintage handkerchiefs that stood at the entrance to the ceremony deck – for their guests happy tears!

The reception pavilion at Piney River Ranch was transformed by florist Rachel of March Floral Designs for the reception. Creating an indoor garden with trailing greenery and centerpieces of scent-filled blooms.

Pearls of wedding wisdom from the bride…

“Remember, you can’t please everyone. Don’t sweat the small stuff and enjoy this season of your life.”

“The most memorable moment of our wedding day was getting to escape the chaos after dinner and go out onto the lake in the canoe together. It was an opportunity to take it all in and really enjoy each other’s presence.”

At the end of the night, guests toasted smores on open camp fires under a starry night sky, and waved handmade ribbon wands as the couple made their exit.
