20 Bridesmaid Dresses Inspired by the Fabulous Fifties
Today’s post is definitely my favourite so far in this series of 1950s themed Snippets, Whispers & Ribbons! Because, after looking at the most perfect bridal hair accessories and delicious wedding cakes for a mid-century inspired wedding, today I’m turning our attention to the all important bridesmaids…..
You want your girls to look and feel just as fabulous as you will on the day, and the fun, flirty feel (and super flattering fit) of 1950s inspired dresses means this is a look that they will love. Think short and tea length dresses, cinched in waists, full skirts and bateau or bardot necklines. Let the fabric you choose convey the style of your wedding…..

Aren’t they lovely?? How could any bridesmaid walk down the aisle with anything but a smile on her face in one of these?! If you love this style as much as I do, why not linger here on Chic Vintage Brides a little longer and take a look at some real brides and their 1950s inspired weddings? Such as this Woodland delight had a high tea reception and this sweet intimate celebration. And for even more ideas, take a peek at this charming 1950s inspired shoot in lavender!
Don’t forget if the fifties just aren’t your style, do take a peek back at the last series. It was packed full of Art Deco styling that would have made Mr Gatsby himself jealous! And in just a few more weeks I’ll be moving on to the next era….. now do we go Edwarian, 1940s, or 1960s? What do you think?
