In 2 short weeks Chic Vintage Brides will be celebrating its official 1st birthday It continues to amaze me that after a year I can still come across somebody so talented, and whose work is so beautiful, I wonder how I could possibly have not discovered them before! Today, I am super excited to be sharing the work of one of those talents Jannie Baltzer…..
Jannie is a Danish Designer of vintage inspired couture bridal veils and headpieces of the most incredible quality. Taking inspiration from past eras; the French Bohemianism of the early 1900’s, the details of the Art Deco movement and the glamour of 1920´s Hollywood, all of which Jannie exquisitely expresses in her choice of the most luxurious materials such as: French lace, Edwardian Lace, silk and soft chiffon. Read on to hear more about the latest collection from Jannie herself…..
“I only use hand made flowers, and all the bead work is handcrafted with beautiful Preciosa crystals and pearls at my studio in Copenhagen. I love to use interesting pieces of vintage to add whimsy and magic, and to get a unique one of a kind piece.”
“My 2013 collection is ALL about love. I have been inspired by different love stories and the celebration of love. As always I find inspiration from the 1920s and 1930s, but updated to the fashion forward bride of 2013. This collection has exquisitely intricate beadwork and beautiful shades of ivory, blush, champagne, antique silver and gold, and it is all about luminous textures and shine. The look is very young and fresh, but still with the luxury and glamour of the old Hollywood.”
Jannie graduated from the Scandinavian Academy of International Fashion and Design in Copenhagen, receiving a Royal seal of approval with an honorary prize from Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte for the most creative collection.
