A Sleeping Beauty Inspired Shoot with Vintage Bridal Hair Accessories
Hello lovelies! I hope the first week of 2015 has been treating you kindly. I have such a truly beautiful bridal fashion inspiration shoot to share with your today. Imagined and captured by the insanely talented Genevieve Chapman of Miss Gen Photography it is dark and delicious, full of drama, brimming with the most fabulous vintage bridal hair accessories and so wildly romantic that I just know you are going to love it! After all, even as we grow up, what girl doesn’t love a good fairy tale??
Here’s a little something from the lovely Genevieve, the lady with the vision, about what inspired her “I imagined a fairytale bride asleep in a bed of tulle overgrown with ivy and spring blooms. I was lucky enough to find a fantastic group of up-and-coming London based designers and wedding professional who, when I explained my idea, shared my vision and wanted to help make it a reality. The fairytale bride resonated with my collaborators who loved the idea of a sleeping beauty inspiration shoot and I found two beautiful models who embodied the vintage princess look perfectly.”
I hope you have your pinning finger ready ladies, because this ‘Sleeping Beauty’ styled shoot shows perfectly just why I love them so. For the freedom of expression, and the creativity that flows from it, there really is no better way for wedding professionals to showcase just what they are capable of. So sit back and let Genevieve and her team’s vision sweep you off your feet…..
“I chose an industrial warehouse as the location to give the fairytale a modern feel. We took elements from the Briar Rose story and created something that modern brides can relate to with ideas they can use in their own weddings. I love the contrast between the pretty styling and the gritty urban environment.”
Aren’t those vintage bridal hair accessories just breathtaking? You know how I love a crown! “The antique headpieces are made of wax and have been lovingly restored by Rosie Weisencrantz. With their delicate feminine quality, they convey a sense of romance and nostalgia that can only ever be truly appreciated through the veil of time. Each piece is unique, fragile & beautiful.
Faith Caton-Barber’s bridal gowns have a whimsical feel, are super flattering and are intricately designed. Rebecca from Ivy Pip & Rose really embraced the theme and created some stunning wild & rustic bouquets, floral crowns and floral and ivy trails.”
“This whimsical, fairytale inspiration shoot was a pleasure to create with a great group of London designers, models and artists. I loved shooting this fashion story and seeing my idea come to life!” And rightly so Genevieve, it is lovely! A big thankyou to you and the team for your beautiful work and for allowing me to share it on Chic Vintage Brides.
