I have long been an admirer of Mignonne Handmade‘s, not only for the beautifully bohemian and charming vintage inspired wedding hair accessories the lovely Jennifer (owner of the boutique) creates but also for the stylish shoots she pulls together that capture the essence of her collections so perfectly. Never has this been more the case than with her latest offering. This collection of delicate floral hair vines, silk flower combs, majestic ornate crowns and ethereal veils is vintage inspired, utterly timeless and just perfect for today’s modern-vintage loving bride. Each and every piece is handmade with love and care in the Mignonne Handmade studio using old school techniques and vintage millinery tools, but with a modern eye; which all together creates beautifully unique, heirloom pieces you will adore for a life time.

Isn’t this silk flower comb lovely? And just wait until you hear how Jennifer creates these beautiful blooms ”I start the process with pure white silk that is then cut into petals that are dyed to a underlying hue, all colors hand mixed by me, then I paint each one in a watercolor style adding depth and a realism to the petals making each one a perfectly unique work of art. The petals are then pressed with millinery brass irons and sewn together to make perfect blossoms.”

And how about the heavenly Augustina? Created from hand painted and wired brass flowers in the prettiest palette of blushes, beiges and whites, with centres of freshwater pearls. Best of all though is its versatility! It can be used as halo, headband, weaved through the hair or worn atop a veil….. 

Or for the boho bride there is the beautiful Isabella, based on Jennifer’s best selling Sounia design…. dare I say it is even more lovely than the original?

I seriously love this collection, don’t you? The styling is so dark and decadent, it really adds to the romance of the pieces. Whilst I love the square cut drop veil (and how pretty does it look in blush?!) I am such a headpiece kind of girl, and you know I just can’t resist a crown, so my favourite piece would have to be the Rosa Crown! How about you, do you have a favourite?
