Lavender Valentines – Valentines Day Wedding Inspiration in Pretty Purples
This Valentines Day inspiration board has to be my favourite yet (if you missed them, you can take a peek at past years here, here and here) – and although I couldn’t resist the hint of a heart, there’s not a splash of red or pink in sight! Because instead of the palette of girly shades so inextricably associated with Valentines Day, I took inspiration from last week’s roundup of Amethyst wedding ideas, to create a look that is both rustic and romantic…..

Whilst you may have to wait for Summer for fields of fresh Lavender, being a bloom that dries so beautifully, it is just as easy to infuse your Winter wedding with this flower and its lovely scent. Lavender, with it olde world charm, may be the perfect flower for a rustic vintage wedding, but it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It is still possible to create this look though, with flowers in similar tones – hydrangea, lilac or purple roses would be just as lovely.
Whatever florals you decide on, let the palette shine by layering shades and tones throughout your day. And add an extra dash of vintage elegance with romantic design details such as calligraphy stationery, crystal glasses at place settings, vintage vessels for your flowers (wherever your venue) and an elaborately iced wedding cake.
If this lovely palette of purples has stolen your heart, just take a peek at these alternative beautiful interpretations – elegant lilac, grey and lavender, a lavender and lilac floral delight, and this sea foam and lavender garden affair.
Before you go, it’s occurred to me that many of you loved up lovelies will be stumbling across my blog today as an excited, newly engaged bride-to-be after saying “Yes!” this morning to your romantic beau. So I just wanted to say a heartfelt welcome and congratulations to you!! I am sure right now your head is spinning with people to tell, things to do and details to plan, but don’t rush off just yet! Before you do anything, you might want to have a read of these top 10 to dos after getting engaged and if the question was popped without a ring, you should take a peek at these top tips for buying a vintage engagement ring. In the meantime, whether you’re a regular follower of Chic Vintage Brides, friend, new visitor or fleeting passer by, happy Valentines Day!
