Following on from yesterday’s elegant Spring wedding (did you see that bouquet?? *swoon*) today I have more beautiful ideas for a Spring wedding for you with a romantic inspiration board infused with delicate shades of lavender and lilac. If you have been following Chic Vintage Brides for some time, then you will know of my love of lavender (in fact this is my third inspiration board in the hue!) It’s not just the timeless and ever so flattering colour of lavender I adore, but also its beautifully soothing scent. I can think of none more perfect to calm your wedding day nerves…..

Inspired by the gorgeous shades of those mismatched bridesmaids this palette of dusky pale blue, lavender and lilac couldn’t be any prettier or more perfect for a Spring celebration. Whilst I had an outdoor wedding in mind, lavender with its rustic charm would look just as lovely adorning any venue from estate garden to barn, church to woodland clearing. Lavender is a budget friendly bloom and makes great decor for place settings, escort cards and favours; as well as beautiful bouquets for your bridesmaids and boutonnieres for your groom. And it looks lovely contrasted with more opulent blooms for the bridal bouquet, reception centrepieces and decor…..

I love the stationery suite by The Aerialist Press in this inspiration board. A letterpress monogram and some gorgeous calligraphy sets an understated and elegant tone, whilst the floral coloured envelope conveys the colour scheme and outdoor/garden theme to your guests. Floral arches at the top of your aisle make a beautiful backdrop for exchanging your vows. Draping the arch with fabric will not only enable you to bring in more of this pretty palette, it will also save a few pennies on flowers! And it’s amazing what an ornate cake stand and a few fresh flowers can do to even the most simply iced wedding cakes. Ask your florist to cascade them down the front and it will look oh so pretty for your portraits without costing the earth!
