Good morning! Monday, Monday, not usually my favourite day of the week (is it anyone’s?) except when I’m doing an inspiration board – and this week’s is a beauty! Mr E and I were lucky enough to have the most wonderful lavender blooming in our gardens all summer, filling our home with its lovely scent (Bodie couldn’t resist a little sniff at the start of every walk)  and it has given me quite the obsession for the flower, the colour and its scent. To brighten my first day back after what was the most fabulous holiday (our first as a family), I have paired lovely lavender with the prettiest shade of sea foam (in case you’re wondering “sea foam?” think greyed jade with just a splash of aqua)…..

Lavender is the perfect wedding flower with its soothing qualities and flattering shades. It is soft and feminine, without being too girly (making the perfect boutonniere) and together with sea foam it is the prettiest palette for a fresh and fun Spring or Summer wedding. Of course it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but you can still create the look by using flowers in similar tones – lilac or purple roses would be just as lovely. Such a versatile colour it is both rustic and elegant, and would suit any location: garden, vineyard, barn, church or beach; especially beach when paired with sea foam!

It was that gorgeous image of husband and wife wading through the sea of lavender that first inspired this inspiration board. Such a charming combination it seems the web is awash with lavender and sea foam, so it wasn’t long before I stumbled across that delightful display of bottles. What a simple yet super pretty idea, with or without flowers, for a centrepiece or even aisle decor. And the image of the bride and her lovely bridesmaids in those lace Adrianna Papell dresses really had me swooning ~ lavender is such a fab shade for bridesmaids, flattering every complexion. Or you could mismatch your bridesmaids in both shades (as the bride in this pin did – doesn’t it look lovely?)

With a palette that suits every venue, your wedding dress options are pretty much limitless – anything goes! Fun and flirty in tea length, timeless and traditional with a ballgown skirt, or elegantly vintage with lashings of lace. But, just because I always love to share beautiful wedding dresses here are a few ideas…..
