Masks & Midnight – Glamorous New Year’s Eve Wedding Inspiration in Black & Gold

It has become something of a tradition to share an inspiration board on New Year’s Eve and if we’re talking New Year’s Eve, then there must be an abundance of gold, glitter and glamour! After last year’s alternative colour palette that was the perfect mix of glitz and romance, I have chosen a beautifully classic combination of colours, because there is nothing quite as glamourous as black and gold!…..

Keeping black as my base, of course, we are talking New Year after all! I added a rich bronze, warm ivory and gold to create a palette that is as elegant as it is glamorous! For a shindig worthy of such an auspicious date think decadence and luxury with lashings of gold in the decor and on the table, include feathers for a vintage touch, twinkly lights for a party atmosphere and of course champagne for midnight! It is also the perfect date for one of the biggest wedding trends of 2015 (which is sure to continue into 2016) a black wedding cake! Keep it pretty with its decor, be it fresh flowers, or delicate sugar icing creations.

For your gorgeous groom & groomsmen, it would be hard to go with anything other than the classic tux for such a decadent black tie affair. But for something with a little more vintage charm a morning suit, with top hat and tails, would look super dapper! This is also such a fabulous colour palette for your bridesmaids, and one they are sure to love as much as you. Let your ‘maids in on the festive fun and have them channel their inner screen siren in a gold sequin dress to complement your celebratory decor. Or mismatched golds and nudes would look super pretty for a decadent and elegant look.

Much as I love this colour palette to see in the New Year (it is actually the second time I have turned to it – you can see the first here), it is perfect for the sophisticated bride and would look just as lovely for a classic formal wedding on any day.

Well, happy New Year everyone! And to all of you: followers, readers, sponsors, photographers and wedding industry pros; I would like to say a big heartfelt thankyou for being a part of Chic Vintage Brides throughout 2015. I can’t wait for the exciting year ahead, and especially for tomorrow when I will be unveiling CVB’s swanky new look! I have been busy working on it for such a long time and can’t wait to share it with you so be sure to check in for a peek – it is (even if I do say so myself) absolutely lovely!
