A Beautiful 1920s Inspired Wedding with a Barn Reception
DIE HOCHZEITSFOTOGRAFENToday’s fabulous wedding from Die Hochzeitsfotografen is filled with the kind of elegant, vintage-inspired fashion and beautiful portraits that make me sigh in wonder from beginning to end. After all, what could be more lovely than a 1920s inspired celebration with an emotion-filled traditional church ceremony and a barn reception?
Add in an abundance of soft, romantic blooms; the most glamorous bridal look complete with finger waves and a first dance that Fred & Ginger would have been proud of, and you have my idea of the perfect wedding! Here are a few words from stylish bride Evelyn “We love the 20’s. It’s such a special and glamorous era. This inspired our wedding day’s theme. We choose pastel colours for our German / Italian wedding.”
Evelyn choose a stunning Yolan Cris dress which she found at DA VINCI Brautmoden in Stuttgart that perfectly matched their 1920’s glamour infused day. And whilst she chose a sparkly clip for her hair, she also went for the quintessential accessory for any bride…..
“I tried many dresses including the classy ‘princess dress’. I choose this beautiful dress because I wanted it to be different and just something special. My veil was a soft silk tulle, very simple but it suited my exceptional dress.”
Scent is such a powerful evoker of memories, so don’t underestimate the importance of choosing just the right one, as Evelyn did, for your big day, …..
“I chose Coco Chanel, I like this scent very much. I was impressed that even my chosen perfume fits into this time.”
As the saying goes, “Give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world”, and Evelyn rocked some of the most glamorous heels I have ever seen…..
“I was thrilled when I saw my bouquet by Still-leben and the great arrangements of flowers. I had a loosely tied bouquet with less flowers.”
And groom Giuseppe looked super dapper in his Hugo Boss tuxedo, a timeless look that perfectly complimented his glamorous Bride. To finish off his look, and give that hint of old world elegance I talked about in this post about styling your groom vintage, Giuseppe paired a bow tie and braces with black patent shoes. Evelyn tells us a little about the proposal and how they met…..
“Giuseppe worked in a bar as a bartender where we met for the first time. I was a guest and we fell in love. Unexpectedly at home Giuseppe got down on one knee and proposed. We were engaged two years before we got married.”
Evelyn and Giuseppe had a beautiful church wedding ceremony that was packed full of tears – and
“We chose Steinbachhof, Vaihingen as our venue as it is near our residence. It is idyllically situated in the countryside and has a special flair through the vineyards. We felt very comfortable here. Especially the children, they had such fun outdoors. Because it was a traditional mix with modern barn we had less decoration. We only hung huge pompoms at the pier.”
Pearls of Wedding Wisdom from the Bride…
“My biggest advice – Take plenty of time for the planning stage!”
For their first dance Evelyn and Giuseppe chose a Russian waltz ‘Gramofon’ by Eugen Doga.
“Live music was important for me because I am a musician myself. Similar music from the 20’s was played by Rhythm and Tunes – Jazz, Charleston and Swing.”
Tell us a little bit about your photographers…
“For our photographers we did not have to look far. We knew immediately that it should be Die Hochzeitsfotografen – Angelika + Artur. We love their style and the naturalness in their pictures. Both are so professional and cater to every need. We got good advice and had a lot of fun with them.”
Wow…..what a wedding. How lovely did Evelyn look? I am completely in love with her elegant updo! Huge congratulations and big thanks to Evelyn & Giuseppe, and to their fabulous photographers Die Hochzeitsfotografen for allowing me to share their perfect day here on Chic Vintage Brides.
