Karen Willis Holmes Exquisite 2016 Bridal Collection
Following on from yesterday’s romance filled engagement shoot, we are continuing the romantic theme with the most stunning shoot capturing the beautiful new bridal collection from one of my favourite designers, Karen Willis Holmes. If that name is new to you, you won’t have to scroll much further to see why she is one of Australia’s top bridal designers……
I have been an admirer of Karen’s work for over 3 years now (if you are a regular to Chic Vintage Brides, or have been perusing the wedding dress archives, you may have peeked her past collections here: 2014, 2013, and 2012) Her sophisticated design style and super feminine silhouettes never fail to get me swooning. Not to mention the way she imbues her romantic, vintage-inspired designs, with contemporary twists that make them as perfect for the modern bride as they are for us vintage lovers. In this her latest collection those contemporary twists include whimsically draped silk kaftans and fringing for the free-spirited bohemian bride, as well as two pieces so pretty they will change your mind about bridal crop tops! And they sit exquisitely alongside the layers of lace, dramatic beading and delicate embroidery that have become the KWH signature. These design details and bridal separates allows a Karen Willis Holmes bride to create a unique look and enjoy a hand-crafted couture experience but with the ease and price tag of a ready to wear wedding dress. It is little wonder therefore that she has gained a reputation for offering trend conscious, modern brides their perfect wedding gown!
For the shoot Inessa Nichols crafted a trio of breathtakingly romantic bouquets, whilst the beautiful, boho jewelry by Katie Dean Jewelry complimented the bridal looks perfectly. Captured by Gregory Ross at the fairytale Chateau-esque Kimberly Crest in California, these images are as heavenly as the wedding dresses themselves, so be prepared for some serious swooning and have that pinning finger ready!…..
See what I mean? Stunning! This collection can only be described as the ultimate Nomadic Luxe. Thanks so much to Karen, and the talented team listed below, for sharing this first glimpse of the 2016 collection with us today! Karen Willis Holmes is based in Australia, but has a flagship boutique in NYC and her dresses are available worldwide through a selection of stockists! And don’t forget, if you want a little reminder of the beauty of past Karen Willis Holmes collections, or perhaps see them for the first time if you have only just discovered her, you can do so here: 2014, 2013, and 2012. You can also see more from this incredible designer, including real brides, and stay up to date with all the latest KWH news, trunk shows and collections by following the lovely lady on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter and Tumblr.
