Screen Sirens – Bridal Style Inspired by Old Hollywood Icons

CHLOE CELESTINA PHOTOGRAPHY

Now if you’re a regular visitor of Chic Vintage Brides you will no doubt be aware of my obsession with any and all actresses from the Golden Age of Hollywood and therefore will be able to imagine all too well my excitement when I stumbled across a bridal inspiration shoot inspired by not one or two but four (yes, four!) of my favourites!! Chloe Celestina Photography got together with bridal designer Jennifer Gifford and a team of super-talented wedding professionals with the result a simply stunning inspiration shoot brimming with glamourous gorgeousness that (I am sure you will agree!) is bound to inspire any bride…..

Rita Hayworth Bride

Rita Hayworth was one of the first Hollywood actresses to capture my heart – with her glossy red hair in perfectly coiffed pin curls! She was all about sultry elegance with an edge, so for a Rita Hayworth-inspired bridal look keep hair bouncy and soft, skin perfect and porcelain and lips red! The dress, like this stunning creation by Jennifer Gifford Designs, should be elegantly understated, but a little sparkle never did a girl any harm, accentuating and skimming your fabulous curves…..

Grace Kelly Bride

Grace Kelly went from Hollywood royalty to a bona fide Princess when she married Prince Ranier IIII of Monaco, and some 57 years later her wedding dress is still considered one of the most iconic of all time! This Jennifer Gifford Design incorporates the long lace sleeves of the Princess of Monaco’s gown, but with a contemporary twist in the neckline and peek-a-boo back. Grace’s hair and makeup was always about letting her natural beauty shine, so with a classic updo and pretty makeup you can channel the lady who truly epitomised elegance…..

Audrey Hepburn Bride

This look was inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s most iconic character, as seen in the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s – the bouffant hair, sparkling tiara and makeup that is all about her doe eyes.  The dress, another from the lovely Jennifer Gifford Designs, with its nod to a peter pan collar and cap sleeves is retro yet super pretty in lace – as well as so Holly Golightly…..

Brigitte Bardot Bride

The ultimate blonde bombshell, Brigitte Bardot is super sexy and all about big hair and eye liner. I love the romance of this look, with the bright florals, but the dress brings in the screen siren with off-the-shoulder draping cap sleeves and a plunging neckline. Another gorgeous creation by Jennifer Gifford Designs, it is both a fun and flirtatious look that is bound to set a groom’s heart a racking…..

See what I mean? Swoonworthy looks each and every one! Which Hollywood icon or bridal look inspires you the most? I am torn between Rita and Audrey!
