Wedding Invitations with Gatsby Glamour from GoGoSnap!
If you love the glitz and glamour of the Jazz-Age, consider Jay & Daisy your style icons and are looking for the perfect wedding stationery then you are going to ♥ the subject of today’s post! I have been an admirer of theirs for so long, that it is with great pleasure I would like to introduce you to Chic Vintage Brides’ newest sponsor GoGoSnap!….
Inspired by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco eras, GoGoSnap! wedding stationery embodies the glamour and elegance of the past, while using modern day printing methods and paper. Lovingly crafted by the super talented Julie, the designs are bold yet romantic, and beautifully coloured. The eye catching invitations and day of stationery, strike just the right balance between vintage and modern, and are a stunning way for any couple planning a vintage celebration infused with the romance or razzle-dazzle of the 1920s or 1930s, to convey the style of your big day to your guests in a way that is guaranteed to get them excited. I mean, who wouldn’t love to see invites as stylish as these in their letterbox?
Here’s a few words from the lovely lady herself about how it al began…..”I started GoGoSnap! with my vintage-loving, budget-minded girlfriends as target clientele. One was getting married and could not find an invitation that suited her aesthetic. She said “I don’t want pretty type on a white background — that’s not me. I want color, drama, something that evokes the 1920’s….. and all for a few hundred bucks.” And that’s how my first wedding invitation was conceived!
An avid collector of vintage postcards and a lover the flourishing designs of the 1880’s, the Jazz-Age Flappers of the 1920’s and the elegance of the 1930’s, Julie finds inspiration for her unique, Great Gatsby-esque wedding invitations in the rare and gorgeous images she has collected over the years…..”I design a look based on a rare piece of ephemera from my collection or from a piece that just inspires me. It might be a finial from old sheet music, a flourish from a Victorian tin can.”
I love the bold colours and designs, and how together with the fonts they convey all the opulence of those lavish golden eras. They are my idea of heaven! The invites are the perfect way to set the tone for your big day, and with the day of stationery that includes escort cards, programmes, table names/numbers, and some of Julie’s best sellers, her vintage inspired hand fans – a great way to keep your Mother-in-Law from overheating or to list your bridal party, a special poem or Ceremony information.
I love the save the date cards too – and so wish it was something Mr E and I had done for our New Year’s Eve wedding in 2010! They say just what you need to and add another little layer of excitement for you and your guests…..
Don’t you just love them?? These are just a few of my personal favourites, so if you consider yourself a bit of a closet flapper, do take a look at rest of the collection in the Go Go Snap shop on Etsy. You can also keep up to date on all the latest news, and pick up some marvellous etiquette advice from Julie, by following on Facebook. Julie also has a rather fabulous Victorian Etsy store Boilermaker Press which is well worth a peek!
